Ayla and Talai followed the vampire through the crowded streets of the city. She mainly kept to the shadows so that the three of them didn't attract any unwanted attention. Talai kept an eye on the beautiful vampire in front of them. He found her very alluring, attractive. He kept his attraction to her buried deep inside. He decided he would deal with those later, when he was sure his cousin was safe. Soon they turned from the more crowded streets to ones that were darker, deserted. Talai almost wondered if the vampire was leading them into a trap but when he glanced at Ayla, she didn't seem worried and if they were in danger, she would know before anyone else. The vampire brought them to the end of a cul-de-sac. The house was larger than all the others. The front lawn was like an orchard of weeping willows and flowers ran up both sides of the walkway leading to the house. The house itself was three stories tall with a wraparound porch. There was a bench swing hanging just left of the front door. " Welcome to our home," the vampire said with a smile. Ayla walked up the way with a soft smile. " It is beautiful!" Ayla said. She stopped suddenly and turned to the vampire. " What is your name?" she asked. Ana was taken aback at Ayla's friendliness. " Umm, my name is Ana...?" Ana replied wanting to know how to address the two Fae. " Please call me Ayla and this is my cousin Talai." Ayla told her and Ana nodded with a smile. The front door opened before the three of the reached it. Another vampire was standing there with a perplexed expression on his face. " I didn't know you would be bringing company Ana," he said.
Ana laughed at the look on Keres's face. He looked both curious and scared if that were possible. " Keres, this is Ayla and Talai. I found them in the park. They need protection. Ayla is hunting the necromancer and his demon allies." She told him. Keres shivered visibly and stepped aside. " In that case please come in and be welcome. Any enemy of the necromancer is a friend of ours." He said. The vampire coven welcomed Ayla and Talai with open arms. The two were showed give their own rooms and soon were down in the dining room eating and sipping wine. Now that they were relatively safe, Talai could stop his eyes from straying to Ana. She was breathtaking and he felt a pull towards her. Being an ancient Fae, Talai knew what that feeling meant, Ana was his fated mate. He turned to look at Ayla. She was staring back at him, her eyes glowing with knowledge and she smiled at him. He took that as a sign of her approval. Ana watched Talai from the corner of her eye. ' Why can't I stop watching him?' she asked herself. Deep down she knew but she was afraid to admit it. He was tall, steady and strong like an ancient tree with deep roots. She inhaled his scent and nearly sighed out loud. He smelled like the forest after a much needed rain shower. Ana massaged her gun with her tongue. They ached. Her teeth ached as well. They wanted to sink deep into Talai's neck and taste his blood. She wanted to mark him so all other females would stay away. The last thought frightened her a little. She had never really wanted a mate. They were a weakness that could used against her. " I want him but I have to fight this," she said to herself before she got up and left the room.
