Chapter 15

        It was late in the morning when Andre woke to someone calling out his name. They sounded worried. He groaned and felt beside him but the spot was bare. He looked around for Ayla, hoping that maybe she was just cleaning in the waterfall or close by but by the way Kai was whining inside of him, he knew. Ayla had left. " Andre!" he heard again but he didn't care. Andre held a fist against his aching heart and cried. That is how Ayden, Indra, Roan and Suri found him. " Andre, are you okay are you hurt?" Roan asked looking over his Alpha for injuries. Andre shook his head. " I tried, I tried to show her how sorry I was. I tried to pour all I felt for her into our bond but she's gone. She's left me. I failed!" he said. Indra crouched down next to her brother and wrapped her arms around him. " I'm sorry Andre, I know it hurts but at least she didn't reject you, you could still find her!" she suggested. Andre took a deep breath and wiped the tears from his face. He got up and got dressed. " Come on, lets get you back to the pack house." Roan said.

Axel rushed down the front steps of the pack house as they grew nearer, holding a folded piece of paper. " Andre, this was left on the floor just inside the door." he said and handed the paper to Suri who was the closest to him. Suri began to cry when she read it.

" My dearest friends and my mate,

I am sorry but I must leave you behind. This mission I am on is going to be dangerous and I can not ask you to risk your lives to help me. I accepted a long time ago that this is the fate I am to have and I embrace it whole heartedly. Especially if it means I can make the world a safer place for you. I have come to love you all in the short time I've known you and I couldn't bare it if something happened to you. With all the power within me, I bless you with long life and many young.

To my mate, Andre and Kai, I don't know what to say except that you have saved my life and the only way I can repay that is to fulfill my destiny. After that I will set you free. I never knew I could fall in love with someone I didn't know, someone I had barely laid my eyes on but I did, I do love you. I can feel your emotions through our bond and I know the remorse you feel so I will say this to ease your burden. With my whole heart and soul, I forgive you. I can't bare to see your face as I say goodbye, I'm sorry I'm such a coward, please forgive me. I have asked the Sentinels to guard your territories. They will alert you if any with ill intent enters your borders.

Andre pulled the letter from Suri's hand and read it for himself. Kai howled with joy inside of him. His mate forgave him and she loves him. She didn't leave because she couldn't stand him. Andre looked around first and then lifted his nose to the wind. He could still smell her heavenly scent though his was getting fainter over time and a determined expression settle on his face. He looked at Ayden while he held his crying mate and both men nodded in understanding. " I don't care if she wants to face this darkness alone, I won't let my mate fight this alone. Not while I have the strength to help her." Andre said. He turned to Roan and Indra, " I want you half the warriors to come with me and half to stay here. If you need and help call on Ayden's beta Yuri." he said and they nodded. " We are coming too," Suri said. Andre nodded. While they were waiting for the pack warriors to get ready, Axel walked up to Andre and put a hand on his shoulder. " My boy, I will go back to the council and tell them what's going on. If you need anything call me and you will have the full backing of the council." Axel said and Andre nodded. Once everyone was ready, they headed out.
