Second Coming

Chapter 3

   Andre laughed as the rogue swung at him and missed, falling to the ground in exhaustion. He always toyed with his enemies before killing them. His beta Roan shook his head as he watched. Come on Dre, just kill him already. He's the only rogue left, just put the poor bastard out of his misery!" Roan called out. Andre shrugged and with a swipe of his claws, he decapitated the rogue and stepped away. " Way to ruin my fun man!" Andre said with mock anger and Roan laughed. " Come one your sister is probably chomping at the bit waiting for us." Roan said putting an arm over Andre's shoulders. Andre and Ramon had known each other and had been best friends since they were pups. It was only natural that Andre would make Roan beta when he became Alpha. They made their way back to the pack house and in through the front door. Sure enough his younger sister Indra was there waiting for them. She fussed over the small scratches that the rogue managed to score and huffed in annoyance. " You should be more careful Andre. Just because you were stronger than the rogues today doesn't mean you will always be stronger than they are. You could get seriously hurt!" she chastised him. Andre just shrugged. He had been feeling antsy lately and he didn't know why. It just felt like big change was coming.

 Andre left his sister to vent to Roan and went to his office. There had been a lot of rogue and hunter activity lately and he wanted to make sure that the neighboring packs were alright. He picked up his phone and dialed the number for the Alpha of the pack the next town over. It was picked up on the second ring. " Hello this is Alpha Ayden?" the man said. " Hello Ayden, it's Andre. I just wanted to check on your pack. We just finished off a small horde of rogues and I wanted to know if you've seen an increase of activity lately?" Andre asked and Ayden sucked in a surprised breath. " Yes we have and the vampire coven as well. We have even come across a couple of Hunters so keep an eye out Andre." Ayden said and was silent for a moment. " Uh, I also wanted to let you know that my mate has also felt a fluctuation of magic as well." He said and Andre frowned. " What does that mean? like witches?" Andre asked carefully. Ayden was silent for a moment longer and sighed. " More powerful. And more so, the forest has also begun to move." Ayden said carefully. Andre didn't know what to say. " What do you mean by move? be straight with me Ayden." he said a little annoyed. " I mean Andre that the trees attacked the rogues and Hunters that were fighting my warriors. Anyway I have to go, thanks for checking up on us. I will keep in touch." Ayden said hanging up. Andre lay the receiver down and scratched his chin. The trees were coming alive. Needing answers, Andre called the only person he knew of that could provide them; Elder Axel.
