Chapter 29: A Hunt

1290 Words

-Raven- I saw Cole and my father together frequently, discussing matters I wasn’t privy to. It only fueled my anger further and gave me a reason to avoid the prince. After the kiss that had left me feeling... intensely unsettled, I wasn’t sure how to act around him. He clearly wanted me, but did I want him? To be honest, I didn’t want to think about it. So I channeled my anger into something productive, using it as a distraction from the confusing whirlwind of emotions inside me. So, for several days, I avoided speaking to the prince. He had finally recovered enough that he no longer needed my support while walking, but unfortunately, I couldn’t avoid him forever. “Ready?” Helena asked, her voice cheerful despite her condition. Even though she was pregnant, she never missed a hunt.
