-Cole- “Cole?” I turned around, smiling when I saw my father. He smiled back, standing in the doorway that led to the balcony. However, my smile slowly faded as I noticed something strange about him. Usually, when I dreamed of him, I felt a sense of calm, but now I felt... almost cold. “It’s okay, son,” he said gently. “It isn’t your time just yet.” Confused, I watched as he came to stand beside me, gazing straight ahead. I turned to do the same, but instead of seeing my kingdom, I was surrounded by nothing but white. It was as though the world had no end. “Where am I?” I asked. “It’s called the in-between,” he explained. “For those who have not yet crossed to the other side.” “Am I dead?” He turned to me with a reassuring smile, shaking his head. “Not yet. You are still fighting.”
