Chapter 17 Nathan woke the following morning in Tess’s room, bright sun splashed across the bed. Half-awake, he rolled over, sleepily thinking he’d be curling around Tess. Finding the bed empty save for him, he rolled onto his back again, kicking the covers off of his feet. As he came slowly awake, his mind replayed the events last night. Just as he had last night after Tess had fallen asleep, he berated himself for losing control and punching Chad. That thought alternated with the fact that Chad damn well deserved to get the s**t beat out of him.
