"Oh my gosh! Is this for real?!" Mom exclaimed while examining the ring on my finger.
"I guess it is. I can't believe it myself, either," I muttered.
"My god! I'm really not getting any younger!" she murmured. "Wait, we need to plan your engagement party!"
"Yeah, will you help me?" I asked.
"Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world!" she smiled widely.
"Thanks, mom, I also need help telling Dad about the news. I didn't know he would take it," I chewed my bottom lip.
"Don't worry about him. That old man has no choice but to accept it," she winked at me, making me chuckle. But I still couldn't help but get worried.
A long, audible sigh escaped him when I told him about my engagement. He stared at me for a while before looking away. His eyes were bloodshot.
