"Eli..." I can't explain how I felt when I saw her eyelids flickering. I squeezed her free hand and kissed the back of it. The nurse said she woke up for a short time while I was gone but then she fell asleep again. This will be the first time I will see her awake after the incident.
"C'mon baby, wake up," I gently whispered.
She softly mewled before her eyelashes fluttered. She stared at the ceiling for a while, while I looked at her breathlessly.
"Eli..." I murmured.
It was like slow motion when she turned to face me. I heaved out a sigh of relief when she smiled. She f*****g smiled at me! Damn!
I never thought I could be this happy with just a single smile from her.
