Jeri felt the shift in her and Sawyer’s relationship, but she couldn’t pinpoint when it had happened. Maybe at the carnival when she’d told him she didn’t want kids. But no, she shook her head as she fitted the ceiling tiles into place. It was before that. A couple of weeks had passed since that chili-line conversation, and yet she thought about it every day.
