Safely tucked away in his favourite clifftop hiding place, at least a dozen plans ran through Chase’s mind as he glowered forlornly down at the waves far below. Most of them involved running away and starting a new life somewhere else. He spent a good 10 minutes convinced that going to the police was his best option, until he realised that he didn’t exactly have the best reputation with the local constabulary, even at the best of times. If he went to the police station claiming that his headmaster could control time and had had him beaten up because he’d trespassed in his memory-vision thing, he would probably be arrested for wasting police time.
