Sasha
After screaming my lungs out, I got tired of banging the cell bars. I hugged myself tightly to my chest, trying not to cry. How had everything gone so wrong?
Just hours ago, I was supposed to find my fated mate at the sacred mating ceremony which happens to be my 18th birthday. But instead, I had been publicly rejected, branded a shameless w***e, and thrown into these wretched Hell Cells by my own uncle Alpha Blade .
This is so unfair!
My humiliation and anguish were soon joined by another torment as the first cramping pains of my heat lanced through my body.
I doubled over, biting back screams as waves of searing needles flooded through me. My very being craved the touch and scent of an alpha to null this agonizing emptiness.
Is this the emptiness of being Rejected?
I was completely alone, denied even that small mercy to prove myself guilty!
That's when I heard Alpha Blake 's booming voice over the intercom: "Release the Beast!"
A tremor of pure terror ran through me. I knew exactly what foul creation he was referring to. His "Beasts" were actually former wolves - rogues that he had captured and experimented on.
Using some sort of drug, he intentionally drove them into an enhanced feral state to create stronger, more vicious fighters for his personal army.
The results were like something out of a nightmare - physically enlarged, muscle-bound monsters with no trace of humanity or higher reasoning left. Just pure, untempt and bloodlust monsters.
The roars that echoed through the dank prison corridors chilled me to the bone. Was this to be my brutal end?
Fed to one of Blake 's lab-engineered horrors as punishment for my supposed "crimes"? White-hot determination blazed within me. I would not go down without a fight!
....
I trembled in the corner of my cold, damp cell, my arms wrapped tightly around my knees. But before they released the Beasts, Alpha Blake's voice boomed over the intercom again.
"Attention all guards! We have a rogue breach in the eastern territory where we set the traps. Prepare for incoming feral rouges captures!"
A chill went down my spine. The eastern traps were where Blake's men would lay out dead or wolves with dead sentences as bait to lure in the rogues. Once caught, those poor souls would be taken to the labs and subjected to Blade 's twisted experiments to create his "beasts" - artificially enhanced feral monsters.
"Only two guards remain on duty in the prison wing to watch the inmates," Blake 's voice continued. "The rest of you, report to the eastern gate immediately to secure the perimeter!"
My heart raced with a flicker of hope. With most of the guards being called away, this could be my only chance to escape! I just had to create a diversion for the two remaining prison sentries.
Digging into my tattered birthday dress, my fingers closed around the small lighter. I always carry a lighter pocket knife for safety measures even though I'm the Alpha's child, I'm Wolfless so I was always bullied. Well, that's what I believed before he found his beloved daughter – Sky.
Shifting behind the door, I gathered anything that was flammable and tore my dress from knee downwards making a heap as I set the fire. Instantly, smoke began billowing up in thick plumes.
"Fire! Cell block B!" one of the guards' gruff voices shouted almost immediately.
I pressed myself against the wall, lighter gripped tightly, as both guards rushed into my cell wielding fire extinguishers. Their focus was solely on the growing flames in the corner - a fatal mistake to draw them in.
"Hey!" the bearded guard barked as I lunged at him.
Before he could react, I swiped the key card from his belt and slashed at his partner's face with my nails when he tried to grab me.
"DAMN it, you b***h!"
He cursed and recoiled, giving me just enough time to dash out of the open cell door and seal it shut again, trapping them both inside with the smoke and fire.
"Open this door, you b***h!" The other guard screamed, pounding on the bars with his hands.
But I was already racing down the dimly lit corridor, key card clutched triumphantly in my hand.
Their muffled shouts and the clanging of batons against the door faded into the distance as I ran, my bare feet slapping against the cold tiles floors.
I reached a door leading up to the pack grounds and frantically swiped the keycard, holding my breath as the indicator light flashes green. I was out!
Finally, after being unjustly caged like an animal for so long, I was free! Well, relatively speaking at least.
I still had to find a way to fully escape the Raven Pack's territory before Blade realized I had gotten loose.
Howls and snarls filled the air outside as the chaos of the rogue invasion raged across the pack's territory. Perfect timing, it seemed - with most of the warriors and hunters dispatched to the eastern gates to drive off the rogues, only a skeletal crew remained behind to guard the compound.
Staying low, I made my way through the shadows towards the garage, listening keenly for any signs of the few remaining guards. So far, so good.
I let out a small sigh of relief as I slipped inside, a small smile form on my face making me stopped in my tracks.
Just perfect for a wolfless wolf like me.
There, gleaming under the fluorescent lights, was Blake 's prized bike, it was a jet black with two big pipes. The keys were still dangling from the ignition.
Thank goddess, without a wolf to run in the woods this is perfect.
A wild smile spread on my lips as I hurried over and climbed the soft leather seat. Whoever said the moon goddess didn't have a sense of humor? With a fierce twist of my wrist, the powerful engine roared to life.
Perfect, the goddess is on my side!
"I'll be damned if I let that sadistic prick Blade and his deranged pack win. Even if I had to ride straight into the pits of hell itself, I would find a way to escape. I promise I'll make every last one of them pay for what they did to me!"
With the engine roar, I sped out of the garage and tore off into the night, leaving the Raven Pack's mansion behind as they were busy fighting off the rogues.
I had no idea where I was going, but anywhere was better than that he'll of a pack!
Little did I know I'll running into my grave...
