Wayne’s POV I couldn't breathe. My chest burned as I tried to keep my breathing steady. My wolf was fighting me harder than ever before. I could hear him in my head, growling and pushing, trying to break free. He wanted her. He wanted to reach Dawn. I did not understand why. I tried to reason with him, but he did not respond with words. He only pushed and growled, saying nothing but her name in broken growls. I held onto the tree near me, forcing myself to stay human.
