Dawn’s POV
The next morning, the sun was bright, and the wind carried the calm smell of pine and grass. I was sitting outside the pack house with Sarah, Naomi, and the other omegas. The small pups were running around us, their laughter echoing through the yard. Sarah and Naomi were helping two of them build something that looked like a small den out of sticks and dry leaves. The rest of the pups were chasing each other, shouting and rolling on the ground.
“This one is cheating!” one of the smaller boys said as another pup tackled him to the ground.
Naomi laughed and said, “That’s not cheating, that’s called being smart.”
Sarah looked at her. “You always take sides.”
“I take the side of the winner,” Naomi replied quickly, making everyone laugh again.
