Dawn's POV
I was asleep when it happened.
One moment, I was wrapped in warmth, drifting in the quiet comfort I had grown used to beside Wayne, and the next, my body was yanked upward so suddenly that I let out a little scream. My head spun, and my hands reached out blindly to grab anything as my feet touched the floor. My heart began pounding before my mind could catch up.
I was still half asleep, my thoughts slow and heavy, struggling to understand what was happening. My eyes were unfocused in the dark as I forced them open, and all I could hear was growling.
