THE REST OF US WATCHED as Callie unravelled... the magic and herself. I closed my eyes, trying to follow everything she’d said. Chloe and Ben had done a spell years ago. Chloe had stolen her sister and Joe’s magic, and some from me, Julianna and Zo. It shouldn’t have been enough for us to ever notice.
“The prophecy told me to follow the threads,” Callie mumbled to herself.
Ben had done the spell too. He had taken from Mr Grandace, Callie’s mother, Callie, Asher and Elijah. But he had also stolen from Chloe, and thereby everyone she had stolen magic from too.
And somehow, that had tied us all together.
“I thought it meant something,” I said.
Zo frowned. She seemed to be the only one listening. “What did?”
“The connections between us.”
