Toby WE WALKED BACK TO THE meeting point in silence. The streets were empty – unnaturally so. We were in an industrial area on the outskirts of a suburb. The people living nearby would have no understanding of what happened tonight. They might have heard the explosions, they might have seen the flames, or even the plants growing out of control, but they would never put the cause down to magic.
