I can not explain my shock when my father told me that my best friend and future Beta had been kidnapped. How could they let this happen while I was gone-I had only been gone a few days! This is one of the biggest things I had been afraid of when I was hesitant to give myself over to the mate bond-I was afraid that all things Sawyer would consume me and my priorities would get all shifted. Even though I was aware of that fact, I still found myself arguing with my father about whether or not I had time to get Sawyer under control before coming back, which made me yell at him, which I immediately felt bad for.
