I was in the dining hall with Gracie, actually enjoying getting to know her and thinking we would be good friends if we spent some more time together when her eyes glazed over to signal that she was receiving a mind-link. Panic slowly developed on her face, sending me on high alert. I hoped nothing had happened to Sawyer; he hadn't woken up yet when I left the hospital room.
