After the introductions were complete, I can’t say I was enthused about my first impression of Lucy’s mom. Fred seemed to like me, okay, but something was definitely off about Heather. I couldn’t put my finger on it yet, but being around her made my hair stand up and put Red on edge.
But she was my mate’s mother, so how did I express my suspicions without seeming like I was trying to isolate her from her family. I decided to let it go for now to bring it up later when things calmed down. Besides, it could also be because I was so nervous about meeting Lucy’s family that I was imagining things.
