After Amara had prepared herself, she left their room and let Cyrus sleep there. She thought he must have been heavily intoxicated, so she didn't bother him anymore. She walked around for a moment, reflecting on what had happened between her and Dravis. She found herself smiling at the memory of their embrace and their kissed lips from last night, but she quickly felt embarrassed, suddenly realizing that she had fallen asleep just like that.
She lightly tapped her forehead and muttered, "What a shame! I don't know why I just fell asleep like that! Tsk!"
"Hey! Looks like you've got something big on your mind, huh?" came Nina's voice from behind Amara. Nina appeared out of nowhere with a broad smile on her face, clearly in a joyful mood.
"N-Nina?" Amara stammered, and Nina mischievously giggled.
"Are you headed to the dining area for breakfast? Come on! That's where I'm going," Nina invited.
Nina grabbed Amara's hand and swiftly pulled her towards the dining area. Amara was entirely puzzled by Nina's exuberance.
They reached the dining area and had their breakfast. Since it was already late morning, there were only a few people around, and at one table, only Amara and Nina were seated.
"You seem really happy today. Why? What happened?" Amara asked, taking a sip of hot soup while giving a curious look at Nina.
Nina pursed her lips tightly to suppress her smile, but the reddening of her face didn't go unnoticed by Amara.
"W-Wait, why is your face so red?" Amara said, suddenly sitting up straight as she tried to figure out the reason. "D-Don't tell me it's because of—"
Nina immediately signaled Amara to be quiet. Amara covered her mouth as her eyes widened. It seemed like Nina's gesture confirmed her suspicions.
"What the... wait! W-What did you do last night? He went to your room, didn't he?" Amara inquired.
Nina blushed and felt embarrassed as she nodded, a smile forming on her face.
"Did my plan work? What happened? Did you talk? What did he say?" Amara's questions flowed one after the other, fueled by curiosity.
Nina couldn't help but flash a sweet smile and felt a rush of embarrassment as she recalled the events between her and Ranz. For her, that was the best night she ever had, spending the entire night with Ranz, sleeping in each other's arms.
"T-There... he slept in my room," Nina said, palming her cheeks on both sides as she reminisced. "I fell asleep... holding him, and he was holding me too!"
Amara's smile widened, and at that moment, she wanted to burst with joy for her friend, but she didn't want to steal the attention, so she covered her mouth again.
"A-And he even said... he had wanted to do that to me for a long time. H-He truly feels... he loves me!" Nina's excitement overflowed as tears welled up in her eyes. "I thought I was just dreaming, but when I woke up earlier, my body was sore, and he was still sleeping soundly, his arm was on my waist!"
"W-What did you say? Your body is sore?" Amara repeated, taken aback by Nina's revelation. "Y-You mean... you two had—"
Nina was practically bursting with excitement and could hardly sit still. She slipped up with her words due to her enthusiasm, unable to hide the truth from her friend.
"Oh, sh*t! W-Why did I mention that!? Geez!"
"Yeah! I'm so shocked! Well, um... Did you guys go all the way? I mean, did you go all the way until you both finished?" Amara asked.
"H-Huh? Um... yeah! Why?" Nina replied, awkwardly smiling.
Amara sighed and became even more disappointed in herself, "Good for both of you. Damn it! I'm so stupid, I fell asleep—"
Amara immediately covered her mouth when she saw Nina's surprised reaction and her eyes locked onto her.
"W-What... did you say?" Nina asked, her voice trembling. Amara quickly covered her mouth again and shook her head rapidly. Nina was sure that Amara's statement meant something, so she pushed her to confess. "Princessa!? Tell me... is it you and—"
That time, it was Amara who signaled to Nina to not make noise. Nina's eyes widened even more, and she couldn't believe it.
"W-Wait! Tell me first who it is!!?" Nina insisted.
Amara sealed her lips, looked around, and silently mouthed Dravis's name. Unlike Amara, Nina couldn't contain her scream, causing everyone around them to look at them.
"Nina!?" Amara tried to calm her down until Nina finally stopped. Amara was trying to smile and apologize to the people around them.
"Hey! Don't stare and eavesdrop here! Mind your own business, okay!?" Nina irritably said, and since she seemed to be turning into a nosy dragon again, they quickly averted their gazes away from them. Nina turned back to Amara and seemed eager to know the details.
"Tell me more and how you ended up like that?" Nina inquired.
"N-Nina..." Amara said hesitantly, her cheeks as red as tomatoes at that moment.
"Does that mean... he likes you too? Oh my gosh!!!" Nina added.
"N-No!!! I-I don't want to think about that!!!" Amara replied, her feelings tinged with sadness. "He never actually said he liked me. Instead, he often taunts me. That's why I don't understand how we ended up like this."
"Huh? What? Did it just happen suddenly?" Nina asked with a concerned tone.
Amara smiled while furrowing her brow, "Yes, it sort of happened like that."
"What the heck!? Don't you like him?" Nina's question became softer.
Amara nodded and looked down, "Yes, I already told you, right!?"
Nina smiled again, "Then that means he likes you too!"
Amara shook her head, "I don't think so. He's a guy and he could do those things with any young woman he sees. Also, I remember Lillian's story, his mother, about him. He once had a fiancé and had a hard time forgetting her. His eyes still get misty from time to time, so I know he hasn't forgotten her."
Nina raised an eyebrow, "Why does it seem like you're torturing yourself? If you know he's interested in other girls, why did you agree? That's really rude, princess! It's not right that he just redirects his desires to anyone when he feels the urge!"
"He's not like that, not at all!" Amara defended the young man.
"Well, if he's not, then why is he treating you that way?" Nina asked again. "If he doesn't like you, why did he do that to you!?"
Amara closed her mouth and clenched her fists. She didn't know for sure, but she was certain that, apart from her, Dravis was not touching any other woman. Still, she didn't want to assume and ask about the reason, afraid that the answer might broke her heart.
"I don't know.'"
