CHAPTER 10

MATE BOND VS ETERNAL COVENANT

Aliyah and Max turned to look at Leah as they made their way to the front door of their small cottage smiling widely at her, Leah looked back and said, “What?” Max opened the door and motioned for his Mate and Daughter to enter before him still not speaking. They all sat around the Island in the kitchen Aliyah making herbal tea she served It and the conversation began.

Max started “Leah I think it’s time for the talk” Leah rolled her eyes and said dad, “I am well aware of how babies/Pups are made” Max shifted uncomfortably in his chair and exclaimed, “Not that talk Leah” Leah and her mother giggled at how uncomfortable Max was almost as though he was trying to expel his thoughts. Leah said, “what talk?” “Mates Leah and the Mate bond” Max replied. Leah looked at her father and said “oh I know this one so the wolfy mate thing there’s a scent then a look followed by tingles and Wala there is your mate” Max looked at his daughter and laughed at her generic and dismissive answer he replied “Well yes but the emotion attached to that process is the most intense feeling you will ever encounter”.

Aliyah then took over the conversation and said “For a witch it’s a deeper knowing a spiritual connection is what happens when we find our beloved then we are bonded by an eternal covenant it is just as intense as the mate bond only real difference is our connection is forever it continues after death”. Leah sat and considered her parents words and said out of nowhere “s**t I am screwed then” Max and Aliyah chuckled. Aliyah spoke “Leah we actually don’t know how this is going to work for you, you have equal strength as both a witch and a wolf neither side is dominant irrespective of what you prefer. Leah smiled “Never fear parental’s I’ll spend some time with the Moon Goddess I’m sure she’ll sort it all out”.

Leah jumped off her chair and headed for the door,  Leah announced as she was leaving “I’m off back to the waterfall I only have 2 more nights there before the big event so I want to make the most of it”. Leah headed out straight for the woods humming as she walked she was almost at the entry way of the white waterfall she smiled spun around and began to wind cast, The wind picked up swirled around her then a powerful gust of wind dropped both Clay boys hard on their butts in front of her, Leah bent over laughing she was laughing so hard she ended up on the ground with them.

Stephano and Nox looked at her smiling and grimacing at the same time both rubbing their butts, Leah was still rolling around on the ground holding her stomach laughing. Leah tried to sort herself out she was breathless from laughing but managed to get out a breathy “what are you two doing here?” Stephano spoke, “First of all Leah that wind s**t was awesome second we wanted to hang out with you a little bit longer without our parents around” Stephano smirked. Nox looked up at her “Yeah what he said” Leah laughed again offered them her hands, she helped to pull them both up and said, “follow me”.
