CHAPTER 17

NOX’S POV

As Leah whispered those words in my ear I couldn’t help but feel a little sad we had only just found her but I understood what she was doing she had a big night coming up and she didn’t have a clue what to expect as far as the mating bond thing goes because after all she was a hybrid.

 None of us knew how that would go for her. Like Stephano and I, she identified a bond between the 3 of us already and she was going to protect it. Leah hopped off my lap sighed with a smile and said in an upbeat voice “you know Nox this separation between us is not forever it’s just a couple of days till after my big night. I know you understand and if I am your mate I’m sure we can get through the rejection thing together” I couldn’t speak this crazy beautiful weirdo just kept on adding to her perfection she was wise beyond her years and already loyal as hell to the bond the 3 of us had she was letting us both know that no matter what she was all in even though none of us really knew what this bond was.

I stood up grabbed her took her in my arms and told her how completely in awe of her I was and that if I had not made a promise to Lacey, I would have gladly accepted her. I turned to leave as I looked back Stephano was standing behind her with his arms around her tiny frame she smiled at me and waved uncontrollably like the weirdo she was which made me laugh even though I was sad. I walked through the woods alone feeling like I had made the biggest mistake of my life, I even started to resent Lacey, Leah was right I was a loyal mess. I had to sneak in the house because Stephano was not with me and we had both disobeyed a direct order from our dad. I mind linked Stephano to get his butt home before we got busted, he acknowledged me then I cut our mind link. 

My thoughts were consumed by Leah I knew this feeling all to well I was not only in awe of this girl I was also beginning to want her, I knew it was crazy but I couldn’t help it even my wolf was affected by her, With each encounter with Leah my wolf was becoming more and more protective more and more possessive, Although I had a lot of she wolf company in my time he never even stirred he just had his lust satisfied and after he couldn’t care less. Leah was different I had not even kissed her, and my wolf reacted to her even at our first encounter with her he came to the fore front with interest in her. I was taken out of my thoughts as I heard Stephano creep in, he came into the kitchen I gave him the other half of my sandwich we sat in silence and ate.

Stephano broke the silence “You know little brother I’m going to call bullshit” I looked at him slightly confused and just said “What” he continued “There is no way you are rejecting Leah if she’s your mate, She just too perfect we both know we both want her even now without a mate bond and that deadly beautiful little weirdo has no idea” Stephano and I started laughing softly but I couldn’t help but think he was right. I was fighting my thoughts and he knew it.

Stephano told me that he and Leah sat by the waters edge and shared with each other she even let him talk with his mate Kyra the same way she had brought his parents forward, Stephano explained it as the single most incredible experience of his life he and Kyra were able to say all the words they didn’t get to say and then like magic they let each other go and Kyra disappeared, all the pain and sadness had completely left him, He told me because of this he was forever going to protect Leah even if she wasn’t his second chance mate. Stephano had made a vow to Leah to be there when and if she needed him. I smiled at him I was so happy for my brother but also feeling a little left out that I was not there with them to share the experience.

Stephano and I decided it was time to hit the hay we had a training at 4 in the morning.
