I was seriously trying not to text Ramon every ten minutes—there was such a lot happening, and I was so used to having someone around to talk to, and I wanted to talk to him—which meant I was super grateful he texted me three times that day. The first one was to say he had a meeting at work that he’d tell me about later. The second one was late evening, to say he wanted to hear about my lunch meeting. The last one came in after I was asleep, and it blew my mind a little when I read it in the morning: My brothers came over and we talked. So good. Tripping.
