Goddamn it. Jaw tense, she maneuvered her way out of downtown Santa Fe and got them headed north on Highway 285. The roadway here wasn’t quite as clear as it was on the 502, since the Los Alamos group used that highway to get to and from Española, but it was all right as long as she kept her speeds down below fifty miles an hour. And once they were back on the 502, she’d be able to push it up to sixty-five. They were coming up to the turnoff for the highway.
