Queen Ha' Ilik
Ha' Ilik had not felt any better the longer she spent in the Atherton castle. She was a prisoner, though that did not seem to bother her so much as it should have. What bothered her was the thought of her people dead, killed by her main military advisor.
Taak Ts'iikil was not...a bad man. He was just headstrong, with a fiery temper, and Ha' Ilik knew he was jealous and bitter about her ascension to Queen. After all, she was not of the royal family. She knew this, her advisors knew this, the priestesses knew this -- the rest of her people did not, officially, though they'd likely guessed.
Taak Ts'iikil was royalty. He was distantly related to the royal family and he never let anyone forget it. He thought he should have been made ruler.
