It was nice to hear her high-pitched voice again as I walked toward her room. The guards who stood at the entrance had wanted to announce my presence but I shut him and listened to the thief's conversation. Even with everything that I did for her, she still hated me.
"That's the kind of mate you want?" I asked monster, my wolf. At first, he pretend not to hear me but I pressured him yet again to speak. "Is that the kind of mate you want?"
"We have no choice but to accept her as our mate. There is nothing we can do about it!"
