The sun's rays filtered through the curtains, signaling the start of a beautiful day. Emily stretched, feeling refreshed and excited for the day ahead. She made her way downstairs to find Nana and Carol preparing breakfast. Emily greeted them with a warm smile, but Carol's stern demeanor was immediately apparent.
"Good morning," Emily said brightly.
"Good morning," Nana replied, hugging her.
"Alexander had an emergency meeting," Carol said brusquely. "He'll call you later."
