Chapter 1

5 months later.... Bethany's POV "Just one call honey and it will save you the trouble." My mom insisted, rubbing my shoulders with a motherly smile on her face. "Mommy, I'm fine. I can handle myself." I assured her for the umpteenth time. A scowl was evident on her face, she didn't like the idea of attending the same university as him. She kept persuading me to transfer to another and I almost bought the idea, but after a second thought. I decided I wasn't going to give up my dreams because of him. Currently, My mom and I stood beside her car on the parking lot, few walks away from the entrance of my dream college. Our dream college. "One call to your father and he'll make the call." She tried persuading at the last minute. "Mommy, trust me." I said and with that she finally gave up. I was about to speak, but was interrupted sweetly, when she pulled me into a warm hug. The kind she always gave me when she was going on a business trip. A i'm-gonna-miss-you hug. "Honey you know I trust you. But I don't trust him. Stay safe." We stayed like that for a moment, cherishing each others' embrace. "I love you mommy" I uttered, sadness evident in my voice. "I love you too honey. Mommy loves you." With that, we pulled away. Smiling at her one last time, I picked up my suitcase and bags. I pivoted, walking towards the entrance. I came to a halt halfway through, turning and hoping to see her watch me leave. She was. She stood there, her hand wiping the tears that ran down her cheeks. I smiled at this. She was and still is my favorite person in the world. My ride or die, beside my best friend. My partner in crime and my cover-up buddy. Out of all my family, I was going to miss her the most. I was scared of saying goodbye, cause I knew I was going to be alone, far from her physical reach and support. "Bye honey" she mouthed, which accompanied a small wave. I retorted with a warm smile and with that, I turned, fully strutting in and making my way to my hall. ** The elevator dinged and finally slid open. I dragged my luggage along with me as I sauntered out. My head turning briefly between the paper in my hand, that had my dorm room's number and the numbers on the gold plates attached to the doors. It was the fourth and last floor of the building and I was already exhausted from checking all four. This hall was pretty quiet compared to the last three that was filled with echoes of Taylor swift, Demi Lovato and Ariana grande's music which boisterously played. "Room 401....no.. 402... 403." I glanced down at the paper and gasped slightly when it matched the last number I had just called. "Room 403" heaving a sigh of relief, I came to a stop at the front of the door. Setting my bags beside me, I took a hold of the door knob, turning it slowly and walking in. "Oh- "s**t!" I cussed out unknowingly, at the sight. I stumbled back, slamming the door shut. "Um-uh-um" Her voice rambled behind. She coughed before clearing her throat. I took that as an indication and went further to turning the door knob and letting it fall inwards. A brunette stood in front of an open window. She had a petite triangle figure, a round flushing face and a gorgeously pale skin. Her eyes were almond shaped and her blue irises shone brightly. Her brunette hair was tinted with red at the bottom, falling onto her slopping shoulders and dimples showed up at the corner of her mouth as she smiled sheepishly. "Hi! You must be my roommate" She uttered, breaking the awkward silence that seems to be at its peak. "Yeah" I said. "Well, I'm Kim short for Kimberly." Her hand stretched out for my reach. I eyed her hand suspiciously before taking a hold of hers briefly. "Beth, Short for Bethany" I introduced to which she smiled politely at. "Pretty nice name." She enounced. I smiled. "Thanks" I turned, taking a good look at the room. It's kinda groovy. My current right sat Kim's bed with gray comforter, on the wall, above her bed few posters of some rock band was hung up and on my left was my bed. Her side of the room was painted with light cornflower blue and my side was plain white. I better start thinking and a color to spice up my side of the room. A large window was placed in between the two sides, from up here I could see the rest of the school. "Er.. Beth?" I turned quickly at the sound of my name. Her hands rubbing the back of her neck as she smiles softly. "What you saw... It's really not- "Don't worry about, I didn't see anything." I interrupted assuredly. She quirked an inquisitive eyebrows at me and I laughed breathless. "It's cool, Kim" And with that, she grinned cheekily. "I had a feeling you're gonna be fun." Me too. I plopped down onto the bed, giving it a little bounce before feelings the softness and comfy- ness of the bed with my butt cheeks. My head snapped towards Kim's direction when I heard a loud chime. She laid on her bed, her face buried in the screen of her phone. Her shirt moved abruptly due to a sudden laugh and I caught a fleeting glimpse of her torso and it was tattooed. A heart shape with the initial 'N' writing inside. "What year are you in?" I questioned looking at her now clothed torso. She turned to me, pulling away from her phone and I switched my gaze to her "Oh! I'm a fresher." She retorted causally and my eyebrows rose with my jaw dropping fleetingly. She's a fresher? "H-How come?" I muttered mostly to myself as I was still in daze. "Well..." Her legs swung off the bed and landed on the ground, she straightened up as she perched on the edge. "I arrived few days ago and was able to set up my side pretty well. If you're asking." That wasn't my question in mind, but would've been if the question in my head right now was answered. But I'm not gonna push it. I responded with a smile. "You know, I can show you around the campus if you want." She offered. "Yeah, that would be cool, but I'm really tired. Maybe later?" I politely declined. It may look as if I was trying to avoid her, but that wasn't the case. I spent about 45 minutes walking all four floors of this building and I may have gotten a sore under my feet, cause it's giving me gyp since I walked in here. Thankfully, she didn't take it to heart and went on with her business. I glanced at her from I laid, pondering on whether or not I should ask. Maybe not. I shouldn't be thinking about him right now. It's my first week, Let's see how it goes. Hey guys! It's the first chapter.. I really hoped you like it. The book is still under editing... So please bear with me. Thanks. Enjoy
