CHAPTER TWO So, I may have left an important part the last time. My name. You wanna take a guess? It’s Unique, short and simple. It’s Blue. Blue Howell BLUE’S POV I walk out of the bathroom, pulling my hair up into a messy bun. I let my arms fall to my sides after I’m done and I stop, my cheeks totally flushed as I see him watch me, with my favorite thing in this world, his smile. His one hand behind his head, against the headboard, the other one on his bare chest as he lays on the bed with his legs crossed. “You should wear my shirts more often, don’t you think?” He says, his eyes sweep over me and his lips curls up in a smirk……. I pause mentally. I think of the perfect name to give my fantasy boyfriend; I mentally scroll through my list of cool boy names. Henry…. no…. Charles?... nah, Luke? Nope! Brian? Hmm… I like it. ….. “Well, I think… your shirts aren’t all that…” I tease as move over to him. He sits upright on the bed, his back against the hardboard. “All that?” He pulls me onto his lap and I let out a laugh. “Ouch” his hands fall to my hips and my hands fall to his shoulders. He leans towards me, his eyes lingering on my lips “The truths always hurt, don’t they?” he hums out as immediate response. “Truths.” He murmurs. One of his hand moves behind me and lets my hair fall. He drapes hair over my shoulders. His eyes still on my lips. He looks up. “You look prettier with your hair down. That’s one truth.” I don’t speak, I just stare, stare deeply into his hazel eyes. His alluring eyes. He pulls me towards him, pressing his lips on mine. Even though it was momentarily, I could feel myself already slipping away and craving for more. “Your neck….” He kisses my neck and I throw my head back, giving him more access. His mouth moves down my collarbone. I flicker my eyes shut. I let out a satisfactory hum. “…. magnificent.” He slides his hands down my neck and pulls away. “Another truth.” He murmurs, taking me in his mouth. This time, his kiss grows deeper, more passionate. I grasp as his hair, pulling him even closer. While his mouth worked magic, his hands were behind the scene. I’m not sure if my body is functioning under my control anymore, but his. He slowly moves forward and I, back. We do this until my back is against the bed and he is fully on top of me. This is bad, I manage to reckon. My legs are snaked around his waist and he moves in between them. He pulls away and balances himself up, so he could still be on top of me. I open my eyes, and slowly my senses begin to flood back in. Traitors! “Don’t you have somewhere to be, Blue?” He asks as he stares down at me. I frown. “No?” I say. “You have class in 10 minutes.” His face becomes serious and that is when―I snap out of my dreams. My eyes flicker open. I have class in 10 minutes!! As if I was in autopilot, I jump out of bed, landing flat on my face on the ground. I stay there for a while, before turning to lie on my back. Thankfully my phone fell with me, so I pick it up. I unlock my phone, tapping on message icon and sliding to Helen’s inbox. Me: Learn for two I send. I sigh and let my arms fall to my sides. I guess it’s just me and my fantasies. “You’re also not going to class?” And of course, Susan. **** “I can’t even fathom the reason why I have to go over at his house for us to talk.” Helen takes a bite off her sandwich and continue. “I mean it’s enough we went our separate ways last semester and now he stirring up emotions that I thought were lost.” She mumbles as she chews. She swallows and takes another bite. “And we’re talking about a guy you actually like—” “liked. Past tense.” She corrects. I nod. “Fine, liked. You did like him, didn’t you? And I’m sure there are still sparks of feelings there between you two, you just don’t want to admit.” I tell her. Her laugh is bold, like I just spewed out an absurd joke. “Funny.” She remarks sarcastically as her smile ebbs quickly. She goes quiet. She might be in denial with herself right now, but I know deep down, their separation made things hard for her. And the worst part is, they weren’t even in a relationship. Sucks for him We are currently benching on one of the empty tables of a nearby food truck. We had just gotten out from a very hectic and less I forget, a very boring class and neither of us had eaten since the day began, which was unhealthy for growing teens like us. And a random note, we started talking about her love-life. Her recent one. She just got out of a situation ship with a guy who attends the same classes we do. They didn’t end things well—No, she didn’t end things well. She wanted a life out the whole ship and he wanted to create a steadier ship. I don’t really know the details. All I know is she wanted a fling and she caught feelings. I guess. Whatever. I would kill to be in her shoes. She might not like how she feels, but at least she gets to feel it. I haven’t had feelings for anyone—or rather, I haven’t had a love interest since high school and even in high school, I wasn’t really into them. I only dated them because other girls were doing it. My friends were doing it. And even then, I was just lucky. “I’ll just go and hear what he has to say.” She speaks, sitting upright. She takes out her phone and begins texting. I don’t say anything. I just watch. “Are you really going?” I ask as she sets her phone back into her pocket. She nods quietly. “I’ll just have to hear him out and then it’s over. I don’t want to be in any kind relationship with him.” I scoff at the last part. She wears a poker face as she turns to me. “I’m serious.” She stands. “I owe him that at least.” She tosses the sandwich wrapper away, dusting off the crumbs left in her hands and proceeding to pull her hair up and tying it in a ponytail. “You’re going over there now?” I look up at her. “Yeah.” She lets her arms fall back to her sides. “Do you want to escort me?” I scowl. “Over to his house? —” “No, just along.” I gulp down a bit of Coke. I’m not even contemplating on an answer. It’s No, but I take my time. I look past her, staring directly at a couple who couldn’t get their hands off each other. They’re just hugging, Blue. My subconscious speaks. That’s some long hug then. “Blue?” Helen calls. I pull away from my impending reverie and look up at her. “Sorry, I can’t. I’ve got other things to do.” Is what I thought I said, but instead. “Sure, I’ve got nothing to do anyways.” She smiles beamingly, like escorting her was the best thing that ever happened her at this very moment. I wrap up my left-over sandwich and stuff it safely into my bag. I might not have any better place to be in, but I sure do not want to escort her to a disaster waiting to happen. But who cares what I feel? I raise from the bench, dusting off the crumbs on jeans. Even in public, I still eat like a pig. “Let’s go.” I say after I was done. She walks ahead of me and I can see the male eyes that ogles over her as she walks past. She’s beautiful, we know! CHAPTER THREE BLUE’S POV My phone rings, resonating loudly and boring into my ear drum. What the hell? I whine, fumbling around blindly in darkness, my hands slapping various objects to find the offending device. I can’t find my phone. However, the ringing ceases and I immediately sink into my pillow. The relief of not hearing that awful sound for the next 10 seconds sends me into a relaxed mode. I begin to drift back into the welcoming embrace of sleep. Just as I’m about to slip away, rings again, piercing into the silence once more, but this time it wakes the entire room. Susan is the first to grumble, she mutters something offensive, but I’m too sleepy to decipher whatever the hell she said. Diane outrightly tells me to answer the ‘damn phone’ and Lily just throws a pillow at me. I find the phone amidst my sheets. I reluctantly bring the phone to my face. The screen is blur, so I blink a few times. My irritation mounts as I decipher the caller ID Incoming Call Caller ID Riven What the hell?!!! It’s—I glance at the time and my annoyance grows at the sight of the time. It’s 2am in the freaking morning!!!!!!!!!!! ***** I stroll into the classroom, having few students scattered around the room. With a causal stride, I walk up the aisle, my eyes scanning for the perfect spot to take for a short nap before the professor shows up. “Blue!” Someone called from behind.
