Kyle was astounded at her generosity. He would always see this place as home, but the gesture she had given him was so beyond what he expected, that he was taken aback. The television set and games consoles took up one wall, and the rest of the room encompassed a comfortable large ‘L’ shaped couch and a music room. His keyboard, drums, and guitars were laid out, as well as his computer so that he could record music. He knew the transformation would not have taken too much from the wedding budget, but he was excited at the thought of having his own place to practice his music.
‘I just thought you might want some time to yourself now and again, even Dad’s need time out.’
‘What about Mom’s?’ he asked, gauging her reaction. ‘Don’t you deserve a little corner of the world for yourself?’
