As the father and son due played and laughed they heard a little giggle come from above. Mapalo was in her room when she heard the sound of a childs giggles She wondered if her father was watching TV only to be shocked to see a father and child play together. She ran down the stairs and smiled at them, with a shy wave as she got closer. Alex who was so happy to see a friend his age ran upto her to say hello, as the young gentleman he was he starched out his hand with a smile on his face,”Hello, my name is Alex and this is my dad” the girl looked at him and looked back at her father without saying a word. Choolwe her nanny who was right behind her, signed out what Alex had said. She inturn signed back to Alex, “Hello, my name is Mapalo, Sorry I do not speak, nice to meet you and your father” In union before her nanny could translate Alex and his father had already signed back to her “it’s a pleasure to meet you to Mapalo” Amazed by being able to meet people that could communicate in sign language she made a loud sound of Joy. Her father signed to her to claim down but Mr Harper stopped him and encouraged him to allow her to express herself. He turned to Mapalo and signed to her while his spoke, “Mapalo, are you able to hear my voice when I speak? She signed back “faintly like in the distance”. Nodding his head they processed to talk some more before dinner was served the two kids sat next to each other signing away as they made little jokes among themselves. The minister has never seen his daughter light up like that. It kind of made him wonder what he might be doing wrong as a parent. With permission from Mr Harper he took pictures and videos of the children laughing and playing and sent them to his wife. She responded with “Im on my way, I have to see this for myself”
An hour later her mother who had stepped out to buy some food items came home to met the laughter of children. Mapalo with a big smile as she talked to her new friend. He was nice, he didn’t care if she made loud noises like the other kids in school, instead he encouraged it. The mother signed at her daughter to say hello, the little girl gave her a hug and introduced Alex to her. While the children played Mr Harper used the chance to text william to book a flight for their family doctor back in the USA, he wanted to help the little girl but he also knew this would solidify his deal and have the minister owe him one. William knowing his aim quickly booked a flight for the doctor and talked him a bit about the case he would be facing. On the other end of the line the doctor understood that when Jack called he answered as he was not just there family doc but also worked for Jacks hospitals. “Sure, I will leave right away. If I may my children are on summer break, would it be possible for me to bring my family along? We have not been to africa and have heard about the beautiful places we could visit. “Not a problem doc, email my PA Sarah, with all your family details and places you would like to see. We can surely cover your expenses” William replied. After saying his good bye he sent Sarah a detailed message of what was needed. Sarah arranged everything to the T and sent back all the information to William.
After the lunch, Jack bid fair well to the family but the kids didn’t seem to want to say good bye. “Tell you what young lady, our house is open to you after school to play with Alex anytime you want!” “really?” both children signed at him. “Yes we just need to tell mum about it” With that Alex said bye to his new friend knowing he was going to see her again. The little boy walked out of the house and waved good bye. The driver had the car ready to go. As the father and son got in. “To the house then office” William gave the instruction as he spoke to the driver. The father and son contained to talk as they drove to the house. Once at the house Jack was greeted by a new face. “Who are you please?" William who was right behind him answered on her behalf. "This is Zuba, she is the new maid/nanny, her sister works for us and she has come around to do a few chores for us. I felt it would be good to perhaps give the locals a try?" He responded. Nodding Jack walked his son in and handed him over to his mother who was busy reading up on the lastest gossip. She didn't even bother to acknowledge his presence just a quick wave off as she returned to her movies and call.
Alex on the other hand was excited to have a new nanny, she was so pretty and had a beautiful smile on her face. He shy waved and her and she waved back at him..waiting for the little boy to invite her into his space. "Auntie Zuba, would you like to see my room" he asked as he waited for her response. "Of course young master" she replied back with her hand starched out for him to hold. Jack jumped into the conversation as he walked out of the house. "please call him Alex" nodding she proceeded to go upstairs with Alex and they had fun playing. She already knew his timetable and had taken time to learn it. After bathing him she took him downstairs to have some dinner. His mother who was still ok her call with her friends back in America didn't pay her son much attention.
Zuba made sure the boy ate and sent him to bed. After she was done to went to the kitchen to help the other maids tidy up. Everyone of them was shocked usually the nanny's of the young master would just retire to bed as they had to rest for the next day. But not Zuba she wanted to make friendships with the other helpers. So allow her to be able to understand the operations of the house. Meanwhile at the office Jack was going through Zuba's personal file to make sure she was indeed good for her son. Not only did she manager in child early education but she also took a class in nutrition. Jack felt she was a good fit and would be a good benefit to their son.. A part of him was a little worried that his wife might not like her causing them to loss a good help. Should he put his foot down on this or let it be and see how it unfolds maybe he can jump in should she try to fire the new helper.
