I mean with this wedding thing over her head and that crazy serpent guy and her father being insistent on her marrying him—” “You don’t think she wants him?” “I don’t think Remy wants anybody.” He shrugged. “I think she has dreams but she’s not really sure what they are and she’s trying to follow them. Trying to discover herself. I mean, from what I’ve seen though.” I looked away. Of course he knew her more. He spent more time with her than I got to. Still, the fact he couldn’t tell… no, there was no way he didn’t notice. He was probably trying not to make me feel worse than I already did. But it didn’t matter.
