11- Remy

Buggy eyed me like he was three minutes away from running. “You… seem to be in a good mood.” I hummed, stirring the food in the pot. “The air smells different, maybe? That’s probably why?” “The air smells like the s**t you’re—” I sent him a glare. He flinched then quickly moved further back. “Look, a lot of things have happened recently. The last thing we need is the police finding a body, so if you would like, direct us to where you murdered—” “Wait, a lot of things have happened?” I stared at him. “What happened?” Wolf walked into the kitchen, sending Buggy a glare. “It’s nothing. Don’t mind him.” I stared at him, then at the bandage on his forehead. “That must really hurt,” He smiled at me. He’s tall— almost everyone is taller than me but now that I’m taking a real good look at him, he’s grown bigger than he used to be when he first joined the club years ago. “It’s okay, Remy. You don’t have to apologize—” I took the spoon from the pot and almost hit his head, he jerked away before I could. “Who’s f*****g apologizing to you?! What’s happened and where is Slink? And why is no one telling me about it?!” He laughed nervously and scratched his head. “Because no one wants you to worry?” “And your Father is already mad and we don’t know what you’ll do to the car when you see it?” Buggy continued, ignoring the glare from Wolf then rubbed his belly. “Say, can I eat now? I’m actually a bit hungry.” I looked at Wolf. “Take me to it. Now.” It took seconds for him to feel convinced enough to take me to the garage and the second I got there, I stopped, my eyes moving over the Aston Martin in front of me as my eye twitched. “Are you okay?” I snapped my head to him. “Where are the car keys? And I know you’re with them. Give it to me.” “Promise not to smash anything. This is… this is evidence.” I scoffed. “Why the f**k would I do that? This is a 5.2L V12 twin-turbo engine, carbon ceramic brakes, infotainment screen and system with heating leather seats. There are better things to do with it. Keys.” Wolf gave it to me. The second I got into the car, I placed my hand on the steering wheel. His perfume was still here somehow, like he’d left something of his to make sure I looked. And I did, opening the dashboard area and freezing as I found a phone… and a condom wrap. With c*m in it. I picked it up with two fingers, staring at it before the phone in my hand started to ring. I picked it and his voice came through, “Before you yell at me, it was your picture I came on. Printed it all over my office table and came. Didn’t miss a spot.” “How’d you know I’m holding your phone?” “Because the car has a camera. Not that I put it there to watch you but it was already there.” His British voice sounded far too polite for the s**t I was hearing. “You don’t sound like you’re having a good day, hatchling? Do I need to come—?” “Why the f**k is your car in our garage?” “You liked it. I gave it to you.” “Yeah? Is that all it takes?” “Yes. What? Not to your liking? I could send a new brand—” “Look, fucker,” The words came out of my mouth with venom. “Whatever happened last night didn’t happen, okay? I thought you were a normal person that needed help not a… not a f*****g Snake—” “And what’s so wrong about being a Snake?” He sounded amused. I dropped the condom on the dashboard so it wouldn’t spill on the chair. “Unloyal f***s. Bottom feeders. The scum of the Earth that only knows how to slither or lie.” I heard him sigh. “That sounds like clan bullshit that I have no hands in, baby. Besides, I don’t like to cheat. It’s a messy business. And all the women I date are usually f*****g crazy. Say, one almost cut off my d**k once—” Disgust flashed through me. “Okay, I’m done—” “You have a rat in your club.” His voice went deathly cold, without emotion. “Don’t say anything. Don’t look at anyone too long. It’d be best, for the both of us if you kept this quiet.” Anger raged through my body. “You’re lying.” “Why would I say something like this when you’re not here so we can have an angry fight and f**k it out?” He sounded hurt by the thought of it. “Who the f**k is it?” “Hmm. I can’t tell you.” “Why the f**k not?” “Well, that wouldn’t be fun, no? Plus, I genuinely don’t know who it is,” He hummed it. “We talk anonymously and all of that. It’s fine. He doesn’t feed me anything personal about your club, mostly just information on you if we’re being honest. They’re out for you but scared, maybe?” “Girl or boy?” “Won’t make a difference. You’re gonna try smashing the knees of everyone you set your eyes on with your bat,” He said, “But that’s the opposite of what you should do. Instead, focus more on your… kutte, is it? If you find whoever it is and present it to your Father, he’ll promote you, no?” “So you care about me having my patch?” “No. I want you to understand that no one wants you there as much as I do. No one’s to be trusted, hatchling. They’re people who’d want you gone for the littlest reasons. I know about that personally,” He cleared his throat. “Now, leave before your friend thinks we’re having phone s*x. I’m a virgin, I’d prefer to die as—” I ended the call, threw it to a seat and came out. Wolf walked up to me. “Is everything—?” “Where’s Decker and my Father?” I cut in. He searched my face. “They’re having a meeting about the… car getting in and everything else. Is there something you’d like to tell them? I could go in and—” I flashed a smile at him. “No. Thank you, that’ll be all.” As I walked past him, I couldn’t help stop the thought ringing through my head. A rat. A f*****g rat. And why the f**k did I think it was Decker?
