Alison spent the next few days struggling to resume her previous level of focus and attention to her usual busy schedule of work, workouts, and time with friends. Indeed, all of her girlfriends noticed their usually so self-possessed GF’s preoccupation, and teased her mercilessly about her obvious smitten state. And they named it properly, for our heroine was astounded by the strength of her attachment to Avery. He dominated both her waking and sleeping life, lightning bolts of memory overpowering her consciousness as her mind and body seemed to need to relive many of the moments they had shared in their overwhelming first date.
