Chapter Sixteen
Braydac had ended our lesson before lunch, so I was able to grab a bite to eat.
Afterward, I’d been taken to the Medical Facility for a checkup. After my time at Maztec, each checkup made me uneasy.
The nurse was bright and bubbly, despite her dark hair and dark eyes. “’Ello, beautiful girl.”
I tried to smile, but I think it came across as a grimace. “Hi.”
“I’m Abbi. I’ll be your nurse for the afternoon.” She covered her mouth as she laughed at her own joke.
I couldn’t help the smile that crept across my face as she sent the Bio-scan on its way.
“Do you ’ave any injuries from your ordeal, love?”
“No.”
“Any other… issues?” She looked into my eyes intently.
