Ha-joon is sitting at his desk, buried in legal documents. The office is neat, with a large window showing the bustling city outside.
HA-JOON
(to himself)
Another day, another mountain of paperwork.
His phone buzzes. It's a message from his friend, Min-kyu.
MIN-KYU (TEXT)
Found something interesting about that book you asked about. Meet at the usual place?
HA-JOON
(to himself)
What could it be now?
INT. CAFE - DAY
Ha-joon enters a cozy, dimly lit cafe. Min-kyu is already there, sipping coffee and flipping through an old, leather-bound book.
MIN-KYU
(smirking)
You're late. Again.
HA-JOON
(sitting down)
Traffic was a nightmare. So, what's this about the book?
MIN-KYU
(sliding the book over)
This isn't just any book. It's an ancient tome with spells and rituals. Said to grant the owner immense power.
HA-JOON
(skeptical)
And you believe this?
MIN-KYU
(shrugging)
Whether I believe it or not, someone else does. I did some digging – there’s a civil servant, Ji-won, who’s been researching this. You should talk to her.
INT. CITY HALL - DAY
Ji-won is busy at her desk, surrounded by files and notes about local historical artifacts. She’s determined and focused.
HA-JOON
(approaching)
Excuse me, are you Ji-won?
JI-WON
(looking up, surprised)
Yes, can I help you?
HA-JOON
I’m Ha-joon. I heard you’ve been researching a certain old book?
JI-WON
(suspicious)
And who told you that?
HA-JOON
(quickly)
A friend. He thought we might help each other. This book... it's important.
JI-WON
(sighing)
If you’re talking about the Enchanted Book, yes, I’ve been looking into it. But it’s dangerous. There are people who will do anything to get their hands on it.
HA-JOON
(leaning in)
That's exactly why we need to understand it. What do you know so far?
JI-WON
Well, according to legend, it’s bound with spells that can change destinies. But there’s a catch – using it could come with severe consequences.
INT. HA-JOON'S APARTMENT - NIGHT
Ha-joon is back home, the Enchanted Book on his coffee table. He’s staring at it, lost in thought. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. He opens it to find Ji-won, looking concerned.
JI-WON
(serious)
I thought about what you said. If you’re really serious about this, we need to be careful. There’s more at stake than you realize.
HA-JOON
(nodding)
I know. But I can’t do it alone. Will you help me?
JI-WON
(after a pause)
Alright. But no more secrets. We do this together.
They exchange a determined look, the weight of their mission heavy in the air.
