Second Chances:HOPE & FAITH

Dinner TIme

It was now 7 pm and it was time to get ready for this dinner party. I had a choice to wear something modest or something Aidan would be displeased with. Tough choice, or not. I decided to wear a sheer lace halter-top mermaid style dress. It was black and see-through. It was a pretty decent dress as long as you didn't pay to much attention to the sheer part. I walked out of the walk-in closet in Lucas's room. He was standing in front of the mirror in the bathroom. He left the door open so I just admired him from afar. He finally noticed I was staring and walked towards me.

"Damn love, you look breathtakingly beautiful," he said as he kissed me. It was hard to describe his kiss. It wasn't bad but It felt different. We walked out into the hallway to head towards the elevator. Aidan and Faith began to approach from the opposite side of the house. Faith was wearing a long sleeve champagne-colored dress. It was lace too but had underlining so you didn't see flesh. Aidan was wearing an elegant black tuxedo just like Lucas but somehow looked more dashing. We all walked into the elevator together. Faith was in front of Aidan and I was on this left. While Lucas was standing on the side holding the rail.

"You have got to be f*****g kidding me, "Aidan whispered angrily.

"Lucas, What's wrong," Faith said.

"Buddy, you okay?" Lucas asked.

"Wolves and their special abilities," I thought.

"I'm fine but I can hear more voices downstairs then I would prefer," Aidan explained. I wondered if they had bought that excuse. I knew he was pissed off at how revealing my dress was but I couldn't snap at him or explain myself. We all got out of the elevator and Aidan gave me a deep direct glare. He was pissed at me. Lucas escorted me out and I saw two familiar faces. 

"Ruby, Sarah, I'm so happy to see you," I said.

"Omg! Hope you look amazing," Sarah said.

"Very sexy," Ruby added. I got kind of embarrassed but hugged them deeply. I missed them so much. I almost forgot how long it really was since I saw them. They looked a bit confused because for all I knew I probably saw them every day.

"Faith looks nice," Sarah said.

"She looks beautiful," Ruby said to Sarah.

"Very beautiful," I added. We should go get her and have some drinks. They both looked at me puzzled.

"Hope, what are you talking about," Sarah asked. "You know she is going to cling on Aidan all night and never leave his side."

"Even if he would let her," Ruby interjected.

"Their close, obviously," I stated.

"Close?" Sarah questioned me again. " Mate close is one thing but Faith just doesn't like to be around people and you know that."

"I think she only likes being around you and Lucas because he is the beta," Ruby explained.

"Yeah, otherwise you would be just like us. An acquaintance she randomly saw in the hall and ran off as soon as you said hi Luna," Sarah told me.

"What!" I exclaimed.

"Lucas is the beta and the closest friend Aidan has. So Faith has to like him for Aidan's sake and she kinda has to like you because your his mate," Ruby explained.

"Has too?" I thought to myself. I know she was always described as shy but wow. She only puts up with Lucas and me because of Aidan's and Lucas's friendship. Why is she so scared to be open with people? I dropped the subject and went to go look for a tray with drinks. I grabbed one from the waiters and walked the room. I saw Faith and Aidan a few times. He was talking so forceful with all his guests. He radiated leadership and strength. He had such a presence. I looked at Faith and she seemed scared but then Aidan would gently squeeze her hand and she smiled. People would try to talk to her but she just lowered her head or whispered her reply. I was walking away from Aidan and Faith when suddenly I bumped into Mr. and Mrs. Eastwood.

"Hello," I said. I didn't know if I needed to bow or not. Last time I meant them I was mated to Aidan.

"Hello dear," Mrs. Eastwood said. "You look lovely, probably the loveliest young lady here."

"No, that title belongs to Faith," I said.

"Modesty, that is a lovely quality to have," she said to me.

"Thank you," I said. We both smiled at one another and I bowed and walked away.

We finally had dinner and it was very delicious even more so than the last time. Aidan's mom made a toast to the alpha and his Luna. Everyone took a sip of their champagne and Faith took a sip of her water. She didn't even look up or smile when they shouted: " to the Luna." There was dancing afterward. Everyone was having fun. Lucas asked me to dance so I agreed and we danced for three songs. I told him I wanted to use the washroom so I left heading towards the one near the kitchen. I walked out and saw Aidan standing by the staircase. I had to walk past him to get back inside the ballroom. I looked around thinking if I should take the long way and go outside and around the house to the sliding doors in the living room or head to the front door. I put my hair behind my ears and walked confidently by him. He quickly grabbed my hand and pinned me to the wall by the staircase.

"What?" I asked him.

"I told you not to wear something so provocative and yet that's exactly what you did," Aidan said harshly.

"I look nice and no one else seems to be complaining," I said.

"Of course not because they get a free peep show," He snarled. I wanted to smack him but he had my wrists gripped and up against the wall. I tried to wiggle free but he just pushed me back every time I tried to move.

"Your really something," he said. He moved his left hand to hold both my wrist and then took his right hand and slide his fingers from the top of my neck to the bottom. Then he went lower and lower until he was at the tip of my breast. His fingers brushed my n****e and I moaned softly. He inhaled deeply.

"You smell like roses," he said with a lustful voice. He then cupped my breast and squeezed it hard. "Perhaps this is what you wanted. For a man to go crazy and take what you are offering." Since he let his guard down I yanked my hands away from his grip and slapped him as hard as I could. I think it hurt me more then it hurt him but I was still proud I did it.

"Stay away from me and go back to Faith," I shouted. I knew I wanted him and wanted that moment to happen but Faith was alive and I can't compete with that. I can't take what isn't mine. I stormed into the ballroom and found Lucas.

"Hey baby," he said. I kissed him as passionately as I could. I felt Aidan storm inside the room and then shouted: " Attention everyone, I would like to make a speech." He walked over to the center of the room. I was standing close so I could see him amongst the crowd. He looked at me but was scanning the room until he laid his eyes on Faith.

"My beloved, I wanted to take this time and say I am happy I found you. I want to thank everyone for coming and I want to share some wonderful news. I have decided it is time for my mate and me to start having a family and ensure our legacy," he stated. Is this the sort of thing you announce? I felt disgusted, not only because he had just fondled me but because it hurt like hell to hear him say that. I looked at Faith and she looked happy. I took a deep breath and listened to the rest of his speech.

"You are all I need in this world but a family will fill us both with so much joy. You have given me so much already. I adore you, my love. You gave me a second chance at life. I thought I would be a lonely fool and live a dark loveless life. You have been my light and clarity. I will always love you in this life and the next. "

I was having trouble breathing. I backed away slowly from the crowd. Aidan's eyes were focused on Faith I knew he didn't notice. I ran outside and went to catch my breath. I looked up at the sky. I looked at the moon and the stars. I closed my eyes so tight and wished for this nightmare to come to an end.

"Hey Hope," Lucas said. "Well, that was something."

"Yeah," I said softly.

"Look this may seem smaller compared to a huge announcement to the entire pack but I wanted to ask you something," he said. I turned around and saw Lucas down on one knee with a ring box in his hands. "Hope I have always loved you from the moment I saw you. You are my friend, my love and my life. I will always protect you and comfort you. I will be by your side until we grow old. I want to marry you and stop shifting. I want to start living a human life with you. I want you to be mine as many ways as possible." I started tearing up and I felt his truth with every word he spoke.

"Hope will you marry me?" He asked. I hesitated. Somehow I knew this was all wrong but what could I do about it. This was my life now. So why can't I be happy?

"Yes," I said softly. He placed the ring on my finger and I tried to smile. He lifted me up into his arms and kissed me over and over again. I saw a figure walk by the sliding doors and it quickly moved away. Everyone was still inside dancing. Faith was by herself. I looked at Lucas and asked him to dance with her.

"Lucas I need to go change my shoes, I'll be back. Dance with Faith till I get back," I said. I was lying though. I knew Aidan wasn't in the room anymore. I wanted to go look for him. I went to his room and while I felt the courage to go look for him downstairs, right now I felt scared as hell.

"Leave!" I heard him shout from inside. I inhaled and then quickly exhaled and walked into his room. He was sitting in the chair he sat in when he rejected me. I felt that sharp pain in my chest again. I walked over to him and kneeled down in between his legs. It was like Deja Vu.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"I don't know, I don't know anything anymore," I told him. "I don't know what happened." I started to sob. He gave me a concerned look but stayed silent.

"I don't understand. I shouldn't be here. I should be dead," I cried out.

"WHAT!" Aidan growled.

"Faith is alive and there is a pain in my chest. I should be dead," I rambled. He lifted my chin up and I was staring at him. His eyes were piercing through me.

"Don't you ever say that," He demanded. "You can't die and I won't let you."

He lifted me up and placed me on his bed. He kissed me passionately. He lifted my dress up until it reached my thighs. He came closer between my legs and I wrapped them around him. He lifted me off the bed and pushed me against the wall. He unzipped his pants and began to stroke his member ontop of my core. I started to breathe rapidly and grabbed him by his hair. He kissed my neck and started to bite me softly. He pushed my panties to the side and slipped himself inside of me. I gasped and shouted his name.

"Aidan!" He pushed into me hard and fast. He groaned with every thrust.

"f**k! Hope!" he yelled. He was pushing evening faster and trying to steady me on the wall.

"FASTER!" I shouted. I wanted him to ram into me as fast and much as he could. His eyes went pitch black and he looked me with a devilish grin.

"Hope," he said hungrily. He walked us over to the bed and sat me on the edge. He kneeled down and placed his head in my core. He slid his tongue inside of me and I let out a loud cry. I started to moan out in pleasure. His tongue slipped so deep inside me and I wanted to scream. I was holding on to his hair and pushing his head into me deeper and deeper. At one point he bit on my lip but then went back to licking me all over.

"Aidan, " I said as he bit me once more. When his eyes went black he sure liked to bite a lot more. He took his tongue out of my center and stood back up. He lifted me up and unzipped my dress. He pulled down the top to expose my breast. He went down to lick my n****e and sucked hard. He took the other breast in his hand and squeezed it hard. He once more put himself inside me and slammed into me. He pulled out and did it again. I moaned a bit with pain in my voice. He did this repeatedly for a few seconds.

"Tell me you want more," he said.

"I want more!" I shouted. He smiled and slammed one last time in me. He was thrusting faster and faster.

"God, I want you," he said. " I love you Hope."

Suddenly the bedroom doors swung open and Faith was standing in front of us. Her eyes looked sad but she didn't say a word. She then ran out and I immediately pushed Aidan off of me. He fell to the grown and looked more shocked at my actions then Faith catching us. I zipped up my dress and pulled down my dress. I ran outside and saw Faith running down the stairs. I ran after her but couldn't seem to catch up. She headed outside and I followed. She was headed in a direction I did not recognize. It was a beautiful clearing that led to a waterfall.

"FAITH!" I shouted. "Faith please stop." She didn't listen and kept running.

"Faith I am so sorry, please stop," I pleaded. She was running towards the waterfall and I cried out "NO!"
