Chapter Twelve

William’s POV:

I held Mirabel on my arms as she was slowly dying, I decided to heal her but for some reason I couldn’t,

“It’s not working”

I said getting frustrated, I tried again but it’s not working, Ada casted a spell to find out the problem,

“She was linked to the soul devourer and as it died the link was still there meaning that she’ll die any moment from now, the only way to stop this is to revive the soul devourer and that is not gonna be possible” Said Ada

“I can revive it”

I said as I tried to revive the soul devourer but Ada stopped me and said

“No you can’t, soul devourers are entities that consume souls, there’s no coming back from that, linking your soul to one is suicide as if that one dies, your soul goes with it, I’m sorry but there’s nothing you can do”

“But the one she was linked to was a fake” I said and Ada Said

“Yes but it still shared some similarities with the real entity and one of the similarities is this”

I sighed and went closer to my mum as I held her, she said

“I know what you’re trying to do son and it’s not gonna work, I knew the bloody consequences when I linked my soul with that thing, I’ve always wanted to be there for you, be part of your life but that isn’t gonna be possible, you’ll have to be strong for all of us”

“I’ve always wanted a parent but I never accepted you because I chose to believe that you abandoned me but I’m sorry, I’ve accepted you now, goddamn it bloody universe I always lose the ones I love and now I have to lose you again, I don’t want that”

I said with tears rolling down my checks, I felt really sad and helpless, I had the power to help her but I couldn’t, I’ve lost her once and now I’ll lose her again, I hated every moment of it,

“Son, I’m sorry if I wasn’t there for you but I want you to know that I did what I did for you, you’re gonna have to go on without me”

She said as she disintegrated into ash and a gentle breeze blew the ash away into the air, I cried silently as Ada stayed beside me and held me in her arms, she didn’t say anything but her presence alone consoled me,

“Get your f*****g ass up nigga, we’ve got a witch to banish”

Damon said as he’d had enough of my whimpering, I got up and started walking towards him, I clenched my fists as I was pissed off at what he said, he just smiled at me and said

“You b***h ass nigga wanna get a load of this? I bet you won’t even last one second”

Ada quickly got in between us before I could get to him, she knew that if I got to him I’ll punch him and a fight would start,

“We should not be fighting each other, we should be after Isabel”

Ada said and Damon just smirked and said

“Tell that to your b***h ass boyfriend, he’s been acting like a p***y ever since that Isabel chick showed up”

“I don’t know who you are but you don’t have the bloody right to talk to me that way! Are you mad?”

I asked and Damon replied

“You f*****g p***y, you think you’re this Messiah figure huh, well all I see is a f****d up nigga who ain’t got s**t right, you couldn’t even save your own mother! You think you’re this tough guy well in reality you’re just a f*****g coward that runs away when s**t gets real”

“You bloody bastard! You dare!”

I exclaimed and wanted to attack him but Ada stopped me and yelled

“Stop it both of you! You’re acting kids while the real threat is out there, we all have a common enemy so let’s focus on her and once she’s be dealt with, the both of you can kill each other”

I sighed as Damon just walked away, I turned to Ada and asked

“Is this a good idea?”

“Not really but it’s the only one we’ve got, you’re powerful William but compared to Isabel you haven’t gotten to that stage yet so we’ll have to work together to defeat her”

Ada said and I nodded, Ada opened up a portal and we all got in and we appeared at the cabin in Manchester, Isabel was waiting for us as she said

“I knew you’d come back to end me, so I prepared for your arrival”

She snapped her fingers and suddenly we couldn’t move, she casted a spell using a mystic binding that froze us, there was nothing we could do,

She stepped closer to me and smirked at me then she said

“Oh William, you’re such a kid in a man’s body, all this power and yet you don’t even know how to use it but don’t worry, I’ll take it from here”

She then put her hand through my chest and grabbed my heart and started absorbing my power, Damon psychically controlled his dagger to cut through the magical bindings holding him and he wanted to impale her,

But she caught him mid air using telekinesis and pushed him backwards, then she used the magical bindings to bind him to the wall,

She continued absorbing my power as her hand was still in my chest, I screamed as she was draining the life outta me, lives started flashing before my eyes as I was dying,

I saw Tracy then my mom and then Ada, I saw all the people I cared about and then Ada who was still binded to the floor said

“William! You’re more powerful than this fight it!”

I saw my mom as she said to me

“You’re stronger than this son, I believe in you, this is not the day you bloody die”

She smiled as my eyes glowed and I released a huge wave of energy from my body, pushing Isabel back and destroying both the magical bindings and the cabin,

I healed instantly and I started walking towards Isabel, she wanted to get up but I blasted her with an energy beam and she flew backwards, she got up but half of her face was burnt,

“You want my power! You can have it!”

I yelled as I blasted her with a huge energy beam and she countered with darkness, she was absorbing my energy through darkness and then my beam overpowered her darkness and hit her directly,

She laughed as she was absorbing the energy but moments later her body started to crack,

“How’s this possible, no stop, that’s too much energy”

She said as she could no longer take it but I didn’t stop I continued blasting her as she screamed and exploded, her entire body disintegrated as I could see her soul disintegrating as well,

I fell to the floor as Ada ran towards me and Damon just looked on in shock, he wasn’t expecting it, Ada held me and helped me up then she asked

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah”

I answered as Damon walked towards us and asked

“That’s a neat trick you’ve got, how the f**k did you do that?”

“I used all my energy and blasted her core, as an undead being she has an essence just like the rest of us so I targeted the core of her essence and it couldn’t take that amount of energy so it destroyed her and her soul”

I answered as Damon smiled and said

“Nigga you’ve just erased one of the toughest opponents I’ve ever come across, I’mma say you’ve got serious potential, maybe you’re not so bad”

He then sighed and said

“Looks like it’s goodbye for now, we’ll met again”

“I’ll look forward to it”

I said as he walked away, Ada turned to me and asked

“Now we’ve defeated your evil aunt, what’s next?”

“We take a vacation”

I said and Ada opened up a portal and we both walked into it.

Three Weeks later, we went shopping as I bought some clothes for Ada, we were in Russia as we were having our vacation there,

I wanted time off from the whole Messiah and investigating about my origins thing, I needed a breather and I got it, I never wanted to go back to London but people needed to be healed and resurrected and Ada wanted to get back to the investigation,

I told her we should stay one more week before going back to reality, we went on camping, skydiving, helicopter lessons and even flew fighter jets together, I knew a guy in the military so I was able to get access to those jets,

There was a time we went skydiving and one of the skydivers was so rude that he offended Ada but he didn’t apologize so Ada kept quiet and decided to teach him a lesson,

We all jumped off the plane as we were falling from the sky, Ada casted a spell that jinxed his parachute, he couldn’t deploy and was falling to his death,

He almost got to the ground before Ada portaled him away into the ocean as a shark was about to eat him, Ada portaled him away to the streets,

He was so sacred that he couldn’t even talk, it was so funny that I couldn’t stop laughing, I knew Ada was a bit cruel but that was diabolical and he deserved it,

Anyways after we came back from shopping I took Ada to lunch at a nearby restaurant, We ate fruit salad and burgers and after lunch we went to the beach,

We were walking down the beach as Ada was deep in thoughts, I pushed her into the water as I laughed, she got up looking pissed and asked

“Hey what gives?!”

“You don’t have to be serious everytime, have some fun at least”

I said and Ada used telekinesis to manipulate the water creating a ball of water and threw it at me, I flew backwards a bit onto dry land and then I got up and said

“Oh it’s on”

I created a small pulse of energy that sent a wave across the water sending a wave of water that hit Ada, she swam to the surface as I jumped into the water,

We were using our powers to have fun, splashing water on ourselves but we were careful not to let anyone notice we had powers, it was fun until a girl drowned in the beach,

A man brought her out of the water trying to revive her but I and Ada knew she was gone, I stepped forward and pretended as if I was a doctor and placed my hand on her chest,

I used my powers to revive her but in doing so I saw a flash of a soul devourer, a real bloody soul devourer the same one I saw when I was trying to resurrect Luther Martin,

I bled from the nose as soon as she was resurrected, I quickly left before anyone could say thanks, Ada followed me and asked me what was wrong,

I told her everything about the soul devourer and about Luther Martin, she said

“This isn’t a coincidence, there must be some kind of connection between these two events, I believe that the more you’re resurrecting people the more you’re attracting unwanted attention”

“Let’s go home and we can talk more on this”

We left the beach and as we got my house, I also have a house in Russia, we sat on the sofa in the sitting room as Ada said

“Soul devourers don’t just go after random prey they’re drawn to the souls they consume for a reason”

“You mean to say that something in their souls are attracting the soul devourers?”

I asked her and she said

“Yes and whatever it is we’ve gotta find out what and why they make you bleed when you try to resurrect their prey”

This was another mystery that was yet to be solved and I think it’s high time we solved it and find out what the bloody hell is going on.
