Kaius leaned against the wall outside Lena's room, eyes on his phone. The faint scent of expensive perfume made him glance up.
Amber Reynolds stood a few feet away, wrapped in one of Lena's dresses that hugged her like it had been tailored for her. Her skin still glowed from the shower, and her eyes held a soft, deliberate shine.
Kaius gave her a short, indifferent look before returning to his screen.
" Alpha Kaius, "Amber said gently, stepping closer, " I promise I'll find a cure for Alpha Sherman. Dr. Luxe is hard to reach, but I can get his medication through the Pharmacists Guild. "
Without looking up, Kaius pulled a folded check from his pocket and handed it to her.
