Leo pulled out his phone, his eyes lighting up as he read Eliot's text messages.
The corners of his mouth lifted just slightly, the kind of smile that spelled mischief.
He glanced at Austin with a deliberately casual expression. "Where are we going today, Mom? "
"First, we're heading to the Chic Syndicate Mall to get clothes and backpacks," Austin replied, pouring herself another cup of coffee. "After lunch, I'll pick up the car. We'll need it now that you'll be starting school."
Her tone was warm but focused, her eyes scanning her tablet as she scrolled through the day's schedule.
Leo immediately fired off a message to Eliot.
Leo: We're going to the Chic Syndicate Mall. Your job is to bring Kaius there.
Eliot's reply came seconds later.
