He could see, drawing closer to the town, there was a kind of low area to the north side. He could see the river and the railroad bridge coming in from the southeast, just like he was. The river was past the low area and the railroad bridge passed over the river nearby to a white painted set of buildings. He didn"t know what they were yet, and could not see them well enough to identify them as the territorial prison compound, and then he could see there was an area somewhat higher than the spot where the bridge was located. There were many buildings on the higher area but none was distinct to him yet, except that the spire of what he would learn was the courthouse was becoming much more defined as he neared the town.
