Onyx entered the room and walked to one side of the court. Samantha peered down at him. The court was sunk low. She wondered how violent the fights could get if they needed this distance between the audience and the fighters.
“The challenged, Benjamin Caster, son of Ursa Caster, enters.”
Ben! Samantha fought hard not to let her thought turn into a wild cry. Ben had removed his fancy clothes. Here he stood in loose pants and a simple undershirt. She was surprised that the slender wolves had anything that would fit Ben’s large, hulking frame.
“Shift.”
Once that word was uttered, Onyx became a large black wolf. Then there were gasps from the crowd. Several people looked horrified. For the first time since Ben had defended her from Rom and his gang, Samantha gazed upon Ben’s shifted form.
