POV’s Tate His steady voice was like a rock for me to grab onto in the raging river of the words in my head. I slowly nodded. Because I didn’t want to be alone. It was why I had called Riley. “Ok,” I whispered. I refused to so much as look at Philip as I rushed into my room, closing the door. The shower helped to burn off some of the thoughts. It eased my heavy breathing, calming me down. By the time I was done, the aromatic smells of my floral shampoo and conditioner were also helping to relax me. I put on my new favorite sweatpants–the ones Philip had given me–and my dark green sweatshirt. By the time I walked into the living room, I felt slightly better.
