Chapter 24

1132 Words

POV’s Philip Lena turned to face me. “I thought you guys barely got along?” I sighed, re-explaining myself to her, just like I had to Riley. Lena gave me a skeptical look, but as someone who was also keeping secrets, she didn’t push. “Ok, guys,” I said. “I seriously need to finish editing this paper. We can debrief tomorrow?” Riley groaned. “Fine.” Lena nodded, taking Riley’s hand and practically dragging her out of the room. “Good luck.” I smiled at her, watching them disappear, before I pulled out my phone. One last person to deal with. I grimaced as I pulled up the contact: Grandfather, and pressed the call button. The line rang four times before he answered. “Tatianna, so lovely to hear from you.” He greeted. I inhaled. “Hello, Grandfather, how are you?” “I’m doing well.”
