POV’s Philip Tate decided on one of the cabinets, her guess spot on, and she reached up to grab a mug. Then, she went to turn to the box of tea, when her eyes landed on me. Tate practically jumped out of her skin, inhaling sharply as her hand shot up to rest over her heart. “Jesus, you scared me,” she breathed, eyes fluttering closed for a moment. Her long hair was slightly disheveled, hanging loosely down to her waist. There were slight dark smudges around her eyes, probably from whatever makeup she had been wearing the night before.
