CHAPTER 4

He slowly starts to get sleepy.

"Somewhere out there... there's definitely people that are genuine... people that I... can form a strong bond... people that I can be connected to... and then with those people... I will... see all there is to see in this... earth...."

He then slowly starts to wander into the realm of dreams. But while in this condition, an image of a certain girl resurfaces in his mind, and while still half asleep, he mutters:

"I will...... find someone.... like her again........."

And with that, Tabi Haruto falls into a deep sleep. So deep, that he doesn't realize the incredible thing that is happening with his body right at this moment.

It was hell.

There's no other word more fitting to describe it.

Hell.

The giant explosions and enormous fire in front of him. He was meters away from it, but he could feel the heat as if he were in the middle of the flames.

The screams of the firefighters in front of him, yelling orders and instructions one another.

The screams to his left, of the owners of the house that was burning right at this moment.

The whispers and shocked faces of the onlookers who came to see what was going on.

The hard and rough feeling in his knees, since he was kneeling in the middle of the street, in front of the hell before his eyes.

His body lost all strength, he couldn't move, only watch.

He then heard a voice. Someone was calling him. The voice little by little became louder, and the hell in front of him became distorted. Then, the voice was all he could hear. But then, he could hear a second voice mixed in with the first, however the second voice was really low:

"I... missed you...."

He barely heard what that second voice said, but as soon as he heard it, it disappeared as if it was never there. The first voice still remained. That's when he opened his eyes.

"Hero-sama! Please, can you hear my voice? Hero-sama!"

Slowly opening his eyes, Haruto still heard that voice. Since it wouldn't stop, he started to find it slightly annoying.

"Oh! Hero-sama is waking up! Thank goddness! Please, Sarina, call father!"

"Understood, Princess."

"Huh? What is going on? What is all that noise in the morning.......wait a damn second! I live alone, how can there be people in my room?!"

As he wakes up, Haruto finally notices that there's something really wrong around him. Immediately, he tries to get off bed, and his vision finally stabilizes. What he could perceive in less than a second was...

This is not his room.

He was in a huge room, with some kind of veranda to his left, while to his front stood a fancy dresser with a oval mirror in front of it. The floor was covered by a red carpet, and to his right stood a girl with a charming light blue dress, along with a few chairs close to the bed where he was, and by the door was a small table with flowers in a vase on it.

By the way, he noticed he was in a huge bed. For a second he wondered if that was something like a king sized bed that he knew only from pictures and movies. It was very confy though.

After absorbing all the weird and unfamiliar scenery before him, he turns to the girl wearing a dress:

"What is this place? Who the hell are you??"

"Was I kidnapped? No, even if I was, what the hell is this place... it reminds me of a room in a castle or something!"

As he tried to find an anwser in his head, the girl looked a little flustered and responded:

"Hero-sama, please calm down. This is the Bartemis Kingdom royal castle, and I am the princess of the Bartemis Kingdom, Lunaria Disio Bartemis."

The girl made a graceful bow as she introduced herself, but Haruto's head was a mess, so as soon as he listened to what the girl, Lunaria said, his mind went elsewhere.

"Bartemis Kingdom? Huh? Where was this again? Is it Europe? I got kidnapped and sent to Europe?? But I don't remember such a kingdom existing there... could I have overlooked? No but, Europe was the continent I explored the most on Doodle Earth, so I'm sure it doesn't exist... but..."

"Uuuh... Hero-sama? Is everything all right? Could you understand my words?"

The princess tried to get his attention, but to no avail. Looking a bit troubled, the princess one more time tried to say something to him, but at that time, the door to the room burst open, and a man with fancy clothes and a mantle, wearing a crown on his head, barged in.

"Is it true that the Hero-sama has awakened??"

The sudden noise made Haruto's consciouness fly right back to him, and he once again started to look at his surroundings.

"Father!!"

"Lunaria, oh Lunaria! Is it true?"

"Yes father, look at him!"

The man, who appeared to be the king, bowed his head to Haruto, and started a conversation with him:

"Hero-sama! It is an honor. My name is Frisk Vargas Bartemis, I am the 45th and current king of the kingdom of Bartemis! In these dark times, I beg you on behalf of all humanity! Please save this world!"

"........................................................Huh.............?"

My name is Tabi Haruto. 17 years old. High school student. Virgin. My dream of the future is to be a man able to explore all of the Earth, and fool around with overseas women. I was currently living my daily life studying ways to make money without working in a fixed location, and dedicating myself in school in order to graduate not a minute late.

However, it seems that dream has been cut short. The reason for that is, I was actually summoned to another world. I'm not bullshiting, this is serious.

I guess everyone familiar with the concept of the "Isekai" genre in light novels, manga and games, will get excited for this to happen. I'm no different, it took a while to take in that fact, but once it finally did, I was very thrilled. At the same time, as expected, I felt slightly sadness and disconfort to have left Earth behind... I mean, I hated where I lived, but I didn't hated Earth itself, I was planning on traveling all around the globe after all.

But...

Although I feel a bit insecure, I need to face this as an opportunity. I mean, if I'm really in a fantasy world I can easily go on adventures right? I can't explore Earth anymore, but instead I got a whole new world to explore! And in a fantasy world, exploration is way easier to do, right? As expected, I began planning a journey.

But that also got cut short.

With the king's next words...

"Hero-sama, as a hero you have incredible power, so our enemies will aim for your head with all they got. For your sake, and the sake of all of the world, you need to remain within this castle. You can only go out when we have a specific battle to fight, that way, all of our army can accompany you."

That's right. Apparently I'm the hero. Someone whose existence is too important to go around the world exploring.

ARE YOU KIDDINNNG MEEEEE?!

You mean to say that I have a whole new world in front of my eyes and even so I can't go see it? Just because I'm a hero? No, even before that, isn't the hero these days the antagonists of the main characters in these Isekai genres? So what, even if I'm summoned here against my will and forced to be the hero, I'm still an antagonist?? Don't joke with me! If there really is a protagonist in this world, please trade with me right now! I don't really wish to be the protagonist, but at least take this hero title from meeeeeeeeee!!

This is serious. I got out of a boring place just to be thrown into another.

I need a plan. I will try to absorb all the knowledge about this world that I can, and in time, I will make my escape. This time, definitely... I will have an adventure and explore the world!!

After Haruto heard he was a hero, he was quite restless for some time.

The king seeing this, proposed that since it was too much information for the Hero to absorb at once, that he rest of the talk be done tomorrow. For now, the Hero should take a tour of the castle and rest in order to calm his mind.

The princess, Lunaria, agreed to this, and looking a bit more composed, Haruto agreed as well.

Then, it was decided that the princess Lunaria and the head maid of the castle Sarina, will be the ones to show the castle to Haruto. They also brought him a change of clothes, since he was wearing his sleep wear (which was basically an old gym uniform).

Haruto then was left alone in the room to change his clothes. Sarina, the head maid, insisted on staying in the room in order to assist him changing, but since he strongly refused she decided to leave him alone.

"There's no way I'm going to let such a sexy maid see me naked without my heart being prepared!"

Sarina looked like she was in her middle twenties, but she was very beautiful. She has a long black hair, almost reaching her waist, honey colored eyes and a cold expression on her face. Haruto could only think she really was a professional maid when he saw her expressionless cold face. Also, her maid uniform have a long skirt, almost dress-like, and covered every part of her body. However, Sarina's body is very fit and voluptuous, so even when her uniform covered all of her body, you could see perfectly the sexy silhouette of her mature body.

To make it short: she is the type of woman Haruto is weak against, that is... a voluptuous Onee-san.

Because of that, he got too nervous and declined the opportunity of having a beautiful girl touch his body.

"Well, maybe I will have more opportunities in the future?"

Turning his attention to the prepared clothes he is about to wear, Haruto sighs a little.

"As expected of a royal castle in another world huh... those sure are some fancy clothes there."

He couldn't quite define if those clothes were casual or formal clothes. Maybe a mixture of both? Is what he thought.

Without much difficulty, Haruto wore the clothes, and wore a short black leather boots that was brought to him as a footwear. With that, he got out of the room, met the princess and the maid, and the tour through the castle began.

It was already nightime.

After having a tour of the castle with the princess and Sarina-san, which took almost two hours, I had lunch, which honestly speaking surprised me a lot. I was expecting the food of another world be primitive, like those so called 'meat on the bone' kinda food, but it was an unexpected advanced cooking. The meat was in a stake like cutting, and was properly cooked too. They had vegetables that I have never seen before, but they were prepared and tasted very similar to the vegetables from Earth. The food got all kinds os spices and seasonings. It was very delicious. I was kind of relieved for that, because usually in the Isekai genres, those worlds have almost no culinary sense, so the protagonists end up developing it with recipes and techniques from the world they came from, but in my case, I have almost no cooking ability or knowledge. So if the food here was bad, I would have a very hard time trying to develop it.

Anyway...

After the lunch I went to the garden and had a tea party with the princess. She was asking a lot of questions about me and the world I came from, with her eyes sparkling. We talked for a very long time.

Well, I'm probably going to be hated for this but... I couldn't enjoy the talk with this princess at all. She gives me a very bad feeling, like she was wearing some kind of gentle persona. It's not like everything was weird though, I could feel that her excitement of hearing things about me and my world were honest, but that's it. Her gentle demeanor, smile and even some opinions on a few things... I can't help it but think it's all fake. I'm not that proud of it, but I can sense a person's true character very well. And all of my alarms are ringing like crazy while I'm around this princess here.
