3rd FLOOR: KILL OR DIE

"Xyxy!" Haven yelled as she pushed Xyxy on the ground. "I-I-I... I ... can't!" Xyxy cried.

"Xyxy!" Haven shouted as she held the teenager's cheeks. "Ethan isn't here to protect you and I can't protect you either. Stop being a damsel in distress. You are not a princess that needed a prince to be saved. You have to protect yourself, you have to!" She said trying to wake the brunette's senses.

Haven stood up and helped Xyxy to get on her feet, "It's either you kill them or they'll kill you. I'll go find the safe place."

With that words, Haven left Xyxy standing in the middle of the hallway.

Curses. Curses are the spirits of cruel people that lived on Earth. They could also be the spirits of unborn children or abort children who never had blessing or proper burial. They're bloody. Dark. Scary. Smelly. Full of pain, anger, hatred, vengeance, jealousy and cruelty.

Screaming. Begging. Shouting. Yelling. Killing. Cursing.

Xyxy held the knife tighter, words of Haven were flashing through her mind. Curses could kill, turn her to one or eat her. She shakingly raised her hand as tears started to stream down her face again.

" ... goodbye."

She charge in, swaying the knife, killing a curse of an unborn baby. She set her emotions aside and fought them one after another. Blood were splattered everywhere, her face, clothes, thighs, walls and windows.

One of the largest curse were able to grab her feet, hanging her upside down. She then raised her body's upper part to slice the curse's hand and to get off it's grip on her as she also beheaded it in the process.

As she was fighting the curses, she froze seeing a familiar face she will never forget.

The girl they weren't able to save during that time. Marie, the girl asking for help in the elevator. The girl who was killed by that monster.

"H-h-h ... hel...p ...m-m-me,"

"I-I-I... i-im... beg...ging.....y-you,"

Xyxy showed nothing but pity and guilt. She then lounge and attacked Marie as she didn't even fought back. Just receiving death.

"May your spirit rest in peace," Xyxy prayed as Marie started to disintegrate. Xyxy sighs and clutch her chest, taking a deep breath and started killing cursed once again.

As she finished killing the curses, she definitely stinks because of the blood splattered coming from the curses she has to kill.

She eventually tried to find the elevator where the safe place could be, when she was ambushed by curses.

As Xyxy desperately fought the curses in order to survive, she saw Haven struggling from the corner if her eye's view. She of course didn't want Haven to be in that situation.

She stabbed the knife she's using into the curses' chest twisting the knife and forcing it to go downwards in order to cut it in half.

After cutting the curses, she tightened her grip into the knife with her right hand as the other hand felt a door knob as she immediately opened it.

She even tripped when the door opened was faster than she expected. She froze when she realized where she was but was able to recover fast in her surprise.

She was able to found the elevator.

Xyxy was about to rise up when someone or something was able to get a hold of her left ankle. She used her free foot to kick and make the grip lose its hold. But when grip didn't budge, she rolled over and raised her upper body like doing a sit up position as she stabbed the curse scratching her ankle in the process.

When it losses its hold, she kicked it away and immediately run on the elevator floor buttons, trying to be calm she pressing the room she's now in.

After she finished pressing the buttons, a green light emitted on the edge of the ceiling in the fifth floor. A loud laugh of a child, more likely a boy followed.

"AHAHAHAHA!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! XYRYLLE LENOIR ON THE FIFTH FLOOR FOUND THE ELEVATOR. FIFTH FLOOR SURVIVORS, PROCEED TO ROOM 204. NOW, FIRST TO FOURTH FLOOR PLAYERS THERE'S ONLY FOUR MINUTES LEFT BEFORE THE GUNNER SHOWS UP."

Xyxy slowly slide down while leaning on the wall of the room. " ... that voice isn't Azariah," she mumbled.

"It's true it isn't that white lady on the elevator," someone commented making Xyxy raised her knife as a protection. She just lowered hat sense when she realized it's just one of the survivors who entered the room.

"Sorry, I might've startled you and also thank you for saving my ass. I might be dead right now, if you still haven't found the safe place."

".... no need to thank me. It's a mere coincidence."

"By the way, my name is Jun─"

"Xyxy!" Xyxy immediately look at the door because of the familiar voice of Haven. Jun was shoved to the side because of Haven's instant hug to Xyxy right after entering the door.

".... Haven..! Your safe," Xyxy said as she hugged Haven back as she clutched Haven's clothes and cried on her shoulder.

"You ... You did great."

Xyxy just smiled as she pulled away from Haven's hug. "Ouch, ouch, ouch. I thought I would die. You're pretty strong for a girl. You shoved me like a mad man," Jun commented as he leaned on the wall for support.

"Who you?" Haven questioned as she took off her jacket and put it on Xyxy. "I'm Junpei but Jun is enough, just thanking her for finding the safe place since I almost die because of the goblins."

"Jun, eh? You have an ugly name," Haven said smirking. "Huh?! I am proud of my name, you wild beast!"

"Wild beast?! Do you wanna die?!"

As time goes by, few more people started to join Xyxy and the others. It then filled up the whole elevator. "Hey, Jun." Haven called.

"Yes?"

"Do you not know anyone in this floor?"

"Ah, I got separated from my sister but I think she'll be fine besides I know what she can do," Jun answered full of trust on his words.

Four minutes passed and there is not further announcement about the other floors finding the safe place.

The childish voice of the boy then entered again, "TIME'S UP! GUNNERS ARE ON THEIR WAY!"

With that announcement the safe place of the fifth floor closed. It then went down on the fourth floor but didn't opened yet. Maybe no one knew where it was.

Meanwhile ....

"Now that Xyxy is safe, there's nothing to worry about now" Yuji mumbled as he positioned his self with Ethan in beside of him. "Now that I know Xyxy is safe, there's no time to hold back."

As they were about to position and kill curses, a gun shot echoed the room. Aimed to Ethan's head. But Ethan was able to avoid the bullet by evading it.

"That's right! Not that you're gonna live anyways!" The gunner said maniacally said as he point out his gun to Ethan.

"Just as I thought, you'd be the one of the gunner. Ben." Yuji said as the disintegrating curses completely disperse. Ben's face covered with his hysterical smile appeared.

FIRST FLOOR//

《NINE MINUTES BEFORE BEN'S APPEARANCE》

"ETHAN!" Yuji called for Ethan for the nth time. Why? It's because Ethan suddenly ran away opening every single door of the first floor.

When the others got teleported, some participants stayed where they were, two of those who weren't teleported were Yuji and Ethan.

All of a sudden, a curse jumped on its way to Yuji's back, scratching his nape and shoulders. Yuji slightly panicked as he wiggled over, trying to remove the curse on his back.

He got surprised when someone splash water on him and into the curse, more to this, the curse then started to disintegrate.

"Yohoo~! What's your type of girl?"

Turns out someone killed it for him. It's girl with a dyed hair in yellow and a few strands highlighted by pink. It's also in a high ponytail. She's also wearing an undeniably revealing outfit. She's also holding a water gun.

"..."

As Yuji was about to answer when a load of curses started to appear right before then. Yuji went on his stance as the girl giggled but prepared her water gun nonetheless.

Just as the curses stepped on the broken brick that cause a little noise, both Yuji and the girl took this as a go sign to attack and kill the curses. Yuji charged in, leaping from one curse to another but not missing to deliver his powerful kick enough to kill them.

As for the girl, she used her water gun and whatever is inside it. It can make the curse disintegrate and disappear with agony.

As the curses got diminished temporarily, both of them were exhausted and lean on the wall to rest for a while.

"Hey, Handsome! I haven't introduced myself haven't I? My name is Lovely. Just as lovely as I look. So~ what's your type on girls?"

"I'm Yuji and well ..." he thinks a for a few seconds, "Maybe someone like Haven. Or maybe Xyxy but if Ethan heard than he'll kill me?"

Lovely then let out a dramatic gasp as she clutch her clothes on, her chest foremost. " ..how ... HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ON ME?!"

"CHEAT ON YOU?! ARE YOU INSANE?! I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO YOU ARE!"

"Heh, I forgive you, my love~" she said and held into Yuji's arms. "Your love?! Hey! Let go!"

"No! You're mine now!"

"Will you both shut up?!" A voice then yelled which really sounded very familiar Yuji. He then look on the direction of the voice and saw Ethan walking towards them.

"Another cutie~"

"I can't find Xyxy."

"Hey~ what's your type of girl?"

"She's not here, Haven's not here too."

"Hey~ don't ignore me!"

"I can't believe we got separated!"

"HEY!"

"What? Who are you anyways?"

"I'm Lovely! And what's your type of girl?"

"Okay, listen here Lovely And What's Your Type Of Girl, I don't have time to speak with you─"

"The name is Lovely!"

"She's asking on what kind of girl you like." Yuji nudge Ethan. "Xyxy," Ethan answered without thinking much about it.

"By the way, you." Ethan pointed out at Lovely. "Excuse me?! I have a name!"

Ethan without caring about what she's saying said, "What the hell are you wearing?"

"Duh! It's my outfit, besides it's still hot. On our place in EDEN its always freezing cold. This Winter is nothing!"

"Not that I care, anyways. Just to let you know, some curses are p*****t so you better know now."

"Eekkk! My love lend me your jacket!" Lovely yelled as she cling into Yuji. "No way in hell!"

"Well, well, well ..."

The three of them got alarmed as Lovely lose her cling into Yuji and her face became serious. Of course, Yuji and Ethan knew where that voice belong to.

"Ben!" They said simultaneously.

Ben showed up and behind him was some of his comrades. More like followers. "Long time no see, Niethan, Eugene. Ohhh and what do we have here~?"

"My, did the lady just say my name? How popular could I get?" He said as he licked the knife he was holding.

Yuji sighs as he then slowly unzipped the jacket he's wearing and put atop of Lovely's head. "Wear that for the meantime, I don't know but it was rumoured at school that right after getting detention in middle school, he molested a girl. And in second year of high school he r***d a girl from the lower year."

That being said brought a shiver into Lovely's spine as she immediately wore the jacket and zipped it. "Wow, you've got that right. Are perhaps a gossip?"

"Everyone knew the scandal, even Xyxy knew that," Ethan said as he gritted his teeth remembering how Xyxy look so devastated since the girl they were pointing as a victim was Xyxy' s precious junior in the Literature Club.

"Oh! That's right! It was supposed to be Xyrylle but since there's the junior, why not her instead─?"

With that words leaving in Ben's mouth, he then got punched by Ethan on the face making him to go down but not being unconscious.

"Damn .... you really punched hard. Still protective of Xyrylle, ey?"

"Stop running that shitty mouth, I'll never forgive anyone who think something dirty about Xyxy!" Ethan growled lowly.

"Calm your ass down, Niethan. It's not like Xyrylle's that attractive─" another blow coming from Ethan now came into him actually making him unconscious.

"Shut up, Xyxy is an actual goddess." He said as he then put his attention on those whose with Ben. "Go before I lose my patience," he said coldly making the others scurried away.

After a few moments Ethan took a deep breath and look at the two behind him who was amused by His action just because of Xyxy.

"That's.... that's intense."

"Yeah."

"Anyway, let's go, we need find the─"

"AHAHAHAHA!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS! XYRYLLE LENOIR ON THE FIFTH FLOOR FOUND THE ELEVATOR. FIFTH FLOOR SURVIVORS, PROCEED TO ROOM 204. NOW, FIRST TO FOURTH FLOOR PLAYERS THERE'S ONLY FOUR MINUTES LEFT BEFORE THE GUNNER SHOWS UP."

"Xyxy? Found the elevator on the fifth floor?" Yuji asked as he was trying to confirm if he heard it right.

"Now that I know where she is and she's safe, I can now move without worrying about her."

"Hello?! Are you listening?! We only have 4 minutes until the gunner appear! Do you wanna die without having a reunion with whoever that Xyxy was?" Lovely said getting the attention of the two.

"Let's go then!"

The three of them run through the hallway trying to find where the elevator or the safe place could possibly be.

"By the way here," Lovely throw two of her duplicate water guns. "What's this?"

"That's a water gun of course."

"The thing inside is what I meant. The curses just die when it's being splashed by this!"

"Oh, the water inside is a sacred water we saw in an antique shop near the mall. It has some.. I don't know like seal or something like that."

"Are you insane? Opening a sacred water. It would ran out you know!"

"Shush, my love, we only put a two or three drops on the water. It would be effective besides the smell of the sacred water is so strong so we have to combine with a normal water. We tried to combine with a holy water and the sacred water and its so strong so we maybe need to reserve it."

"We?"

"Me and and my beloved brother."

As the three started killing cursed while running and opening the doors they encounter. The voice from earlier then announced something making the stop and became more dead serious.

"TIME'S UP! GUNNERS ARE ON THEIR WAY!"

"Now that Xyxy is safe, there's nothing to worry about now" Yuji mumbled as he positioned his self with Ethan in beside of him. "Now that I know Xyxy is safe, there's no time to hold back."

"Ben?!" Lovely exclaimed as she went on a fighting stance almost all of a sudden.

"Why getting so defensive in all of a sudden?" He laugh as he then pulled the trigger and aimed for Yuji.

"Lovely go on without us, we'll take care of him. You go find the elevator. Remember the room you enter to."

Lovely hesitated for a moment and nod, "Be sure to be safe, Ethan, also you My Love!"

"I'm Yuji!" Yuji yelled but only passed on Lovely's other ear after hearing what he just said as he then sigh, "Jeez, that girl..."

"Well then," Ben said as he again fired his revolver but to Ethan again this time. "Since you are the gunner, you'll be killed if ever Lovely find the elevator, right?" Ethan asked same as the time as he avoided the bullet.

"2 more bullets," Ethan thought as Ben then wasted the other 2 of the bullet in his revolver as he then threw the revolver on the side as he then went and grabbed his knife on his pocket and charged in.

He was able to scratch Ethan's face but thankfully, Ethan was able to leap away on time. "You've still got some nice reflexes," Ben said as he licked the blood of Ethan in the knife.

"As expected for the former captain of the Karate club." Ben added startling Yuji who's just behind Ethan.

"Former? Captain?"

"Well, since you just joined the Karate Club, you probably didn't know but Niethan actually started in Karate Club. Just after the third years graduated, he became the Club captain but mid way the second year, he quit and entered mystery club."

"The reason? Probably because of the accident that happened to Xyrylle while he's at the Karate tournament. The incident that almost killed Xyrylle that is."

"That's enough."

"Why? Don't you wanna reveal the past about how you became extra overly protective to Xyrylle that you just happen to choose Mystery club because the Club room is just in front of the Literature Club room."

"Shut up, his past isn't connected on what's happening right now, besides once Lovely found the safe place you're done. It's nice to see how Ethan became so protective to Xyxy and I don't see something wrong about it. It's you who's wrong!"

Ethan and Yuji shared a glace as they both nod and soon attacked Ben at the same time. As the three exchanged blows and countless kicks, they didn't notice some announcement about the other floors but immediately stopped when Ben's sign on his clothes started to get red.

"I'll be seeing the both of you in hell!"

Just as that Ben's body exploded and his blood splashed everywhere including to Yuji and Ethan's skin and clothes.

"Hey the both of You!"

The looked back and saw a couple panting but stopped just to call them. "The elevator is in room 71! Let's Go!" He said as Yuji and Ethan assist the two and arrived at room 71.

As Ethan entered the room there he saw Xyrylle sleeping into Haven's shoulder and Haven is still wide awake.

"You took your time.." Haven said and smiled at them.

"Its nice to see you alive brother~"

"My sis~"

Xyxy started to wake from her slumber as she saw Ethan right before her with Yuji. She then widen her eyes and jumped towards the guy.

Ethan was startled but as well hugged the girl back. "...Ethan" she sobbed.

Ethan then smiled and leans his head into her shoulder. "I'm glad your safe," Ethan mumbled.

"I'll always be, but I'm safer when I'm on your side." Xyxy replied and then pulls back smiling warmly to Ethan.
