Dad

  I gathered the warriors in front of the pack house. We are waiting for Richard to give some details to the warriors about why they have to leave the pack. 

  I think that I have to find him. When I enter in the living room, I observe that there is no one. His office is empty too. That’s strange..there is always someone who is playing, eating or resting. I open a mind-link to Richy. 

 “Hey, where are you? We are waiting for you for almost an hour now. If you don’t hurry up we will miss our flight.”

 “Emma I’m sorry, I’ve tried to reach you via mind-link but you excluded everyone. We need to talk right now. I’m here at your parents house. Hurry up!” 

 My parents house is like 10 minutes away from the pack house. I’m glad that I came here with my baby because I know an abridgment through the forest. I turn my bike on, I don’t need a helmet right now because I’m not wasting time with it. I’m too worried that something bad happened. Richy is like a family member to us, so that’s not something unusual that he is visiting my parents. 

 I hope that my parents are not in danger..OMG! My sister?! What happened with Nicole or Ed? Anxiety and depression are taking over me. I started to shake, i need to concentrate to get there as fast as I can. I parked my bike in front of my parents house. I run inside where I find Richy first. 

 “What happened? Where are my parents? Nicole? She’s good? The baby?!” I stuttered all the questions, I’m not sure that he heard them. I look at him with teary eyes. I’m on the edge, if something happened to my family ,I don’t know how to deal with that. 

 “Babe, please calm down, just breathe.” He said hugging me but I can’t stay calm right now. 

 “Just say it before I kill someone!” I said through gritted teeth. He went and sat down on the couch, he patted the space next to him. I gladly take it because I don’t know how much I can stand before I collapse. 

 “Please, just tell me what happened.” I beg him having a bad feeling that something serious happened. 

 “At sunrise ,the guards at the North border told me that there are rouges in a quiet big number. Almost 100 rogues attacked our pack.  I think that this attack was planned. I’m afraid that they are planning something big. I will tell you about my trip to the Blue Blood pack but it’s a secret ,I know that I can trust you.”

 “Okay...” I don’t understand why he is telling me this now, I just want to know what happened to my parents or Nicole. 

 “You already know that a week ago I got a letter from the Blue Blood pack. They told me that the rogues are attacking everyone who was in The Northern War. Do you remember, it was 30 years ago.”

 “Yes, my father told me about that. He said that 5 packs were implicated in the war. They had to fight together to kill all the rogues. Dad told me that they never saw the rogues in such large number together. They were like a pack...” I remember when my dad told me stories about the war, he was 16 years old back then. He was too young to be a warrior because he didn’t shift yet. He had to stay at the pack and help them there. 

 “Yes, they were a pack. Their leader was Elijah Ashton. He was an Alpha before he killed his own mate, Marlene. I don’t know the reason why he killed her but the pack banished him because he killed their Luna. Marlene gave birth to two boys. They had a beautiful family. Lucas, the older one, at that time he was 6 years old I think and Liam 4. After their mother’s death, Marlene’s parents took care of the children until they disappeared. I think Elijah kidnapped the boys. He trained them to become bloodthirsty and cruel. Our grandparents killed Elijah back then but they didn’t found Lucas or Liam. I don’t know why but I have a bad feeling about the rogues attack. Everyone thinks that Lucas and Liam wants revenge because of their father’s death.” 

 “If I remember correctly, the 5 packs that were implicated in the war are still allied to each other. The Blue Blood Pack, Night Sky, Blood Moon, Blackwood and Midnight, right? If what I heard is true, then every pack have some rogues problem. The history repeats itself?” I ask still worried what happened to my family.

 “You are smart enough to put together the puzzle. But you can’t tell anyone until we are sure that Lucas and Liam are behind the attacks.” 

 “All right Richy, but please tell me what happened! I know why the rogues attacked our pack but what’s the matter with my parents?” He gave me a sad face..I know that something happened, I’m sure about that. 

 “Eric was in the first line, the warriors said that he saved someone’s life. He died like a hero and a fearless warrior. I’m so sorry Em!” 

  What? My dad? Unbelievable. I’m confused.   “Why I didn’t find out about the attack? Why no one warned me? I should had to be on the battlefield, not him. I’m the Beta, not him. Why?!” I said so quietly that if I didn't know that he is a werewolf with a supernatural hearing, he certainly wouldn’t have heard anything. 

 “Emma, it happened so fast that we only had time to send women and the pups in the safe house. I’ve tried to reach you via mind-link, I even tried to call you but you weren’t answering.” He said hugging me while I was frozen, staring at the wall in front of me. 

  I remember my first day at the training ground. I was 13 ,the youngest one there. My mother yelled at my dad that I’m too young to start my training but he knew that I can deal with that. I was training with the boys because the girls couldn’t beat me. My first opponent was Derek. Tall, black hair with black eyes, he have a scar under his left eye. He is older than me but kinda handsome. I didn’t needed more than 3 minutes to beat him. That was the day he first told me that he is proud of me. I will never forget that day. 

  I noticed what time it is, I was sitting here for almost an hour. 

 “I have to go. If we don’t leave now we will miss our flight.” I said wit a cold tone. 

 “Are you sure that you don’t want to stay with your mother now? You don’t want to say goodbye to Eric?” 

 “My dad wouldn’t be happy if I stayed at home and cried...I’m leaving right now. Tell my family that I’m sorry leaving them right now but I have to fulfill my duties. I love them and I will miss them.” I said looking at the family picture on the coffee table.
