Alpha Curtis had taken off with his mate so now I'm sitting at the bar in the corner of the ballroom.

"Is this seat taken?" Said a rough voice to my left.

I look over to notice it is Aamon. I shake my head and then signal for him to go ahead and sit down. As he was sitting down he ordered both of us a round of shots.

" Where did your Alpha go?"

"He left with his new found mate." I explained with a soft warm smile.

"OH, so you're not his mate? I thought since he was so protective that you two were mates."

I laughed lightly, shaking my head and told him no, that we were just friends with benefits, and that when one of us found our mate it would end the benefits part. He nodded his head at my answer to his question and ordered us another shot.

"Have you found your mate?" I asked him with my head c****d to the side.

"You don't know much about demons do you?"

I shook my head and listened to him explain how the demon Era works and that it is extremely rare for a demon to have a mate. Normally they just breed to make demon offspring and all of their females take care of said offspring. I looked at him in disbelief, how could they not have a mate? It's so confusing. But then a thought appeared in my head, since I'm Lucifer's daughter that makes me part demon so will I have a mate? Not realizing I said it out loud. Aamon put his hand on my shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze. I looked over at him and he looked back at me with what seemed like an apology in his expression. Explaining that since I'm not just a demon but only part of me it could be possible that I have a mate out there. Upon hearing his words I internally disagreed with him as I don't feel as though I have a mate out in this world. Maybe I'm just not meant to have a mate.

I stared into his eyes and before I knew it our lips had clashed together. At first he was shocked and didn't move, but then he started to kiss me back with hunger.. I don't know if it was the alcohol or it being he was an amazing kisser, but I didn't want to end the kiss. He stood up and had broken the kiss to ask me if I wanted to go somewhere more quiet. I only nodded and stood up next to him. With that we ended up in his room.
