ELENA'S POV Looking at Lucian's furious face he threw his card at me and said. “When you are ready, that's my card you know where to find me”. I picked up the card and kept it. The doctor came in and spoke to me about my health. I was glad it was just a few broken ribs which are already healing. Two days after the doctor discharged me. I asked if there were any vacancies or job offers I could take at the hospital, even if it was cleaning but he said no. A kind nurse offered me some clothes even though they looked like the ones worn in the 90s and a pair of old shoes. I was happy because my clothes were torn and I couldn't find my shoes. She also offered me some dollar bills which I was extremely grateful for. Now under the scorching sun, which had no mercy on me, I had exhausted all my money on food and my cravings began to increase. My baby bump was becoming visible and the morning sickness wasn't helping matters. Searching my pocket for a coin or a bill. I found Lucian's business card, as my mind drifted back to the contract he had proposed. I don't have any options now, but what if he is just like Leo or worse? Because he was rude and cold and did not neglect the fact that his aura screamed power. And one thing I have learned is to be careful of powerful men. My stomach grumbled loudly drawing the attention of passersby. I was ashamed of my present situation and I was losing strength with every passing minute as my vision began to blur, my tongue lunged for water and my stomach cried out for food. My legs began to give up on me as I decided to go back to Lucian's proposal. I couldn't let my baby die because of my stubbornness. This baby was my only hope, the reason why I'm still alive and pushing. I can't give up now. I looked at the card and discovered Lucian company was a thirty-minute drive from here but since I had no money I decided to Walk. Looking at the big gigantic building, the size of the building was five times that of mine. Still wondering about the position he held here to be working in this kind of company a security guard approached me. “Madam, you are not supposed to be here. I advise you to keep walking as you are standing in the way of other important people coming in.” He said feeling irritated. “Sorry sir but I'm looking for Lucian, he works here,” I said calmly. “ I'm sorry the only Lucian here is Mr. Lucian Ambani, the owner of the company,” he said, trying to shove me into a corner. “He gave me this card asking me to meet him here,” I said, showing him the card as he looked at the card and examined me also. “Come this way, madam,” he said, still unsure if he was doing the right thing as he spoke to the receptionist as she glanced at me. I entered the building as the cool air condition breezed my skin and I sighed loudly. “Take the elevator to the top floor,” she said firmly, not even looking at me. …..Ding…. I stepped out of the elevator as I admired the expensive decorations and the neat shining marble floor which could show my reflection. “Can I help you miss?” a lady asked in curiosity as she wondered how I got here. “I'm sorry. My name is Elena and I'm here to see Lucian” She was shocked at my boldness for requesting such an audience. “I'm sorry miss you can't just walk in requesting such an audience without an appointment” she protested. “No, he gave me this” showing her the business card. “Miss I asked for an appointment, not a business card,” she said feeling irritated. “No I can explain just tell him I'm here,” I said “Miss, I think I will ask you to leave now or I will have to call security,” she said, already reaching for the telephone. “Please ma just tell him Elena is here he will understand,” I said almost crying, this was my only chance and I was about to blow it up. “Miss I won't ask politely again, please leave or I call security,” she said dialing the number. “Security please, on the top floor a woman is causing a scene here,” she said into the telephone. “Please just give him a call he will understand,” I said as the elevator opened and men in uniforms approached me. One of them took me by my hand asking me to come nicely or I will be dragged. I continued trying to plead with the secretary as I was being dragged. The door flew open revealing a man in a well-tailored suit as his aura of power filled the air as he stood in his full glory. “Lucian” I shouted with all my might as my life depended on it. ★★★★★★★★★★★ Sitting in front of Lucian as I ate like a hungry dog, Lucian asked if I was hungry, and I said yes. And the food was brought. I almost forgot how sweet food was as I have been living on bread for the past weeks and also sleeping under the bridge. He dropped the document on the table and said. “Sign here as terms and conditions are written below” Looking at the document which states no love and affection attached, business strictly as they wouldn't be kissing, hugging, that it will only be needed in public for appearances and no s****l activities. I signed it. Handing the document over to him. “We have to appear in a board meeting today,” Lucian said firmly with a straight face. “And you can't be seen wearing that,” Lucian said with disgust laced in his voice. ★★★★★★★★★ Lucian took me out shopping. He bought me different clothes and undies, accessories, bags, and shoes. He bought the freaking store. As I went to the spa and told him I was hungry. He took me to a restaurant and bought me different food I requested that didn't match. Don't blame me, blame the baby. We arrived back at the company and Lucian instructed me not to talk and that he would do the talking. The door opened and we entered. “Let's get started,” Lucian said with a firm voice and a straight face. Throwing an invitation card on the table. “You are all invited to my wedding ceremony next week as me and my fiance here are getting married,” Lucian said, watching the shocked faces of the board members as they whispered among themselves. “Well played Lucian, wasn't expecting it.” A man in his mid-30s said “Lucas you can't take what is mine, I am always ahead of you,” Lucian said as he smirked. “We will see,” Lucas said. Lucian clenched his fist in anger as his anger cut through the air. The moment was interrupted by a man who walked in. I recognized him to be my father's friend when he was still alive. “Sorry I'm late, got cut up in traffic,” he said as his gaze landed on me. “Ha Elena, how are you doing? Longest time” he said, as cold sweat broke out of me. “I'm fine Mr Alex.” I answered with a nearly trembling voice putting up a smile that didn't reach my eyes. “And your husband Leo?” He said as the board members began to talk within themselves as confusion set in.
